About Pisang Peak Climbing
Pisang Peak Climbing is the most popular peak climbing which lies between Annapurna I and Manaslu in the Manang district. This peak is an altitude of 6091m from sea level. This peak is considered as the easy climbing peak and one of the most natural climbing peaks. It offers climbers fantastic journey through culture, landscapes, and diverse ecosystem. This peak climbing is suitable for beginner climber who needs to have physically fit. With a little bit of climbing knowledge and experience of peak climbing will definitely success to climb this peak. Climbing and summiting in this peak is a thrilling and adventurous for all the mountain lovers.
The peak is firstly climbed by German expedition team in the year 1955, there after this peak come to limelight. Along the way, the climbers will amaze with mesmerizing view of mountain like Manaslu, Annapurna II, III, IV, Gangapurna, and Tilicho peak. This peak climbing offers marvelous scenery of beautiful Manang district with its dramatic landscapes. It is one of the most magnificent areas within Pisang valley and high Manang valley. The trek takes along the off-beat trail, across the green meadows, mountain deserts, alluring forests, and yak grazing lands which offers view of green hills and snow-capped mountains.
Pisang peak climbing begins from Dharapani, the drive towards mid hills within cooler alpine zone of Manang. To climb Pisang peak, we need at least 3 trekking permits which are climbing permit, Annapurna Conservation Area permit and TIMs. A journey will takes you through woodland of rhododendron and pine forest to reach at Pisang village which is lined with Buddhist prayer walls and spinning wheels. While climbing this peak, you will amaze with fantastic view of mountain with beautiful surrounding scenery. It will be a mixture of thrilling, adventurous and gratification.
Pisang Peak Climbing routes
We will start our journey from Kathmandu. To start Pisang Peak Climbing, from Kathmandu, we will take a drive towards Besishar. And from Besishar, we take a local jeep to move towards Dharapani, one of the largest village of Manang districts. Dharapani is the place where we start our trekking. The trails have a major interaction which meets at Dharapani after passing through Larkya La Pass. The path ascends through spares wood and pasture to reach base camp from Pisang village. While embarking on this peak climbing, the climbers get an opportunity to get into the holy place for both Buddhist and Hindu which is Muktinath. Our walking trekking will end at Jomsom and from Jomsom; we will take a local bus either a flight according to your choice and end our high Himalayan journey at Pokhara.
Pisang Peak Climbing Difficulty
It will be a great accomplishment to climb 6000m class peak. The climbers must know about the challenge that strikes upon the journey. Pisang peak is easy to climb but climbers needs to set the mind to face the challenges. This peak is also can do by every beginner trekkers also. Though this peak is climbed by every beginner trekkers but you have to face some challenges like:
Altitude sickness: Mostly altitude sickness is occurring while trekking an altitude of 2500m from sea level. On the Pisang peak, we will have to trek an altitude of 6000m from sea level, so it is very basic to suffer from altitude sickness. To avoid altitude sickness, you have to keep your body hydrated throughout the journey. If any symptoms of altitude sickness seen then it is better to descent back to lower elevation as soon as possible.
Weather and Temperature: One of the difficulty factors while climbing Pisang Peak is weather and temperature. The weather of high altitude is unpredictable, so it also adds to challenges of Pisang peak.
