This beautiful village is about 143 kilometers west of Kathmandu, which takes 4 to 5 hours to reach. This small town has its own history. In the nineteenth century, the Newari tribe migrated from Bhaktapur. In all over the village, you will get an opportunity to see traditional homes, temples and shrines that are beautifully woodcarving, brickwork, and lattice windows. This kind of art work can be seen while traveling along the narrow street. In the early 18th century, Bandipur was an important stop on the trade route to India-Tibet. This beautiful village was originally part of the Magar Kingdom at Tanahun. The Newari trader from Bhaktapur from Kathmandu moved into Bandipur after Kathmandu was conquered by Prithvi Narayan Shah in 1768.
