About Yala Peak Climbing

Yala Peak climbing is one of the popular peaks climbing at Langtang region which is a beautiful meadow, offering mesmerizing views of snow-capped mountains. From Yala peak, we will get an opportunity to see a close glimpse mountain of Langtang region. The mountains like Langtang Lirung, Ganchempo, Langshisha-Ri, Naya Kang, Dorje Lakpa, Ganja-la Peak, Shishapangma, and other peaks of langtang region. Yala Peak Climbing Route

First, we take drive towards Syabrubesi from Kathmandu which is the starting point of every trekking of Langtang region. From Syabrubesi, we start our walking trekking towards Yala Peak. After walk 5 days from Syabrubesi, we will reach Yala Kharka, used as Base camp of Yala peak climbing. From Yala Kharka, we can see a lovely sunset view from snow-capped mountain. At high camp, we will explore the Langshisha glacier and the high camp is the resting sites before summiting the Yala Peak. After summiting Yala Peak, we will descend back to Syabrubesi which is also ending point of the Langtang region.

Yala Peak Climbing Difficulty

Yala Peak is one of the easy treks in Nepal with 95% success rate. This peak climbing is considered one of the easiest and least technically peak which is situated an altitude of 5550m from sea level. Mostly the routes are scrambling and rocky path all the way. When the climbing begins, the trail is steeply up to the hill to Tsergo RI. This peak climbing is perfect for the beginner trekkers, and all you needs is physically straight. On the summit day, the trail traverses uphill through the gravelly and rocky trail.

Useful Information

Accommodation and Food

Accommodation: While embarking Yala Peak, we will spend at least 2 nights at Kathmandu. At Kathmandu, you will easily get what kind of accommodation you want. But during the trekking, you have to spend you overnight at lodges or tea houses. The lodges and tea houses are not that much Luxury like in Kathmandu but very much comfortable to spend overnight while tiring day. We will spend at least 12 nights at Himalayan where 9 nights at lodge and 3 night at tent. The rooms of lodges are small with two beds, pillows, blankets, and mattresses. At higher elevation, you have to share bathrooms. It is better to take a sleeping bag with because the weather of the high elevation is unpredictable.

Food: On Yala peak climbing, you will get both western and typical Nepalese cuisine. As you trek higher the cost of the food also become expensive due to altitude and roads are not well-constructed. You are request to bring some snack with you. It is because on the higher elevation, there are small vendors which are a little bit expensive.

Climbing equipment for Yala Peak climbing

For care free climbing, you have to pack your bag very carefully. Some of the most important equipment, which may need while climbing are:

6) Down and waterproof jacket

7) Trekking pants and comfortable pants

8) T-shirt, woolen socks, gloves, sun, and woolen hat

The climbers need to carry the photocopy of your passport, extra passport-sized photos, and travel insurance with you.

Best time to climb Yala Peak

While climbing at high elevation, it is better known about the best time to visit here. It is very important to climb at right because you may face many huddles, if you make it on wrong time. For Yala Peak, autumn and spring is the best time to climb.

Autumn season: This season is the great time which lies between Septembers to November month. In this season, you will amaze with breathtaking mountain views with clear skies. The temperature in this season is not so hot or not so cold, so it is the perfect time to climb Yala Peak.

Spring season: This season is an ideal season for peak climbing, trekking, hiking and touring all over Nepal. You will mesmerized by the dense forest of rhododendron.

It is not recommended to climb Yala Peak at Monsoon and winter season. In monsoon season, there will be rain everywhere and the road is slippery and muddy. And in winter season, the weather is freezing cold and the scenery is not clear due to fog everywhere.
