Lobuche Peak Climbing is the most climbed peak of Nepal which is located in the Khumbu region. Most of the climbers visit Nepal to climb Lobuche peak every year. It is famous for its extreme adventure and astonishing natural scenery with mesmerizing views of the world’s tallest mountain Mt Everest and Khumbu Glacier. This peak climbing is moderately easy peak climbing which is perfect for that climber who is beginner which offers the beautiful but learnable climbing experience. On this peak climbing, we get an opportunity to enter Sagarmatha National Park which preserves numerous numbers of flora and fauna.

Lobuche peak climbing route

Sometimes, we must take a flight from Ramechhap and to get into Ramechhap early in the morning we will take a tourist bus or a local jeep from Kathmandu. Usually in the on season, we have to take a flight from Ramechhap. And in the off season, we take flights from Kathmandu. At Lobuche peak climbing, we must take a short flight to Lukla from Kathmandu. Lukla is the starting point of every trekking in Everest region. After reaching Lukla, we will start our trekking. We will walk from Lukla to Phakding. On this peak climbing, we will cross many beautiful villages of the Everest region with a mesmerizing view of mountains and its natural scenery. From Phakding, the route takes beautiful villages like Namche bazaar, Tengboche, Dingboche, Thukla where we are going to spend overnight.

Altitude sickness

Basically, altitude sickness is occurring at an altitude above 2000m from sea level. While embarking on Lobuche peak, the start point is an altitude of 2650m from the sea level. So, there is a high chance of getting altitude sickness at Lobuche peak climbing. Altitude sickness is the major difficulty which has to face while embarking on the high altitude.

Symptoms: The symptoms of altitude sickness are headache, vomiting, loss of appetite, feeling tired, dizziness, Nausea, and difficulty sleeping. Sometimes altitude sickness can be life-threatening.

Prevention: If you are suffering from any symptoms of altitude sickness the best way is to descend to the lower altitude. While trekking at high altitude, it is better to keep yourself hydrated. At high altitude, it is better to avoid smoking and drinking alcohol. You are also suggested to drink soup and a high carbohydrate diet which gives you energy to your body.

Useful Information

Accommodation and food

Accommodation: On this Lobuche peak climbing, we will spend 3 nights in Kathmandu and 14 nights in the Everest region, where 10 nights at lodge and 4 nights at tent. At Kathmandu, you will spend 3 nights in luxury hotel. But in the high Himalayan land, we will spend overnights at lodges or tea houses. The teahouses are simple which is constructed by local materials where in one room; there are two beds with pillows, blankets, mattresses, and useful furniture. At high altitude, you have to share bathrooms with other trekkers. While embarking on this peak, we will spend at least 4 nights in a tent. You are also suggested that bring your sleeping bag with you because the weather of high Himalayan is unpredictable.

Food: For food, you will get a variety of options at the lower altitude. From Lukla to Dingboche, you will get but western and typical Nepalese cuisine. But from Dingboche, you will get fewer options of food. On summit day meals are often more basic like soup, instant noodles, rice, potatos, energy bar and chocolates which provide carbohydrates and energy.

Best season for Lobuche peak climbing

It is very important to know about the right time to do peak climbing. The best seasons for Lobuche peak climbing are autumn and spring.

Autumn season: The autumn is the perfect time to go trekking, hiking or peak climbing. For Lobuche peak climbing, autumn is the best season. At this season, the skies are often clear and get mesmerizing views of mountains with beautiful natural scenery. It is perfect season to do Lobuche peak climbing because at this time, it is less crowded than spring season.

Spring season: Spring is one of the best seasons to do Lobuche peak climbing. In this season, you will get a mesmerizing view of mountain with beautiful natural scenery. You will see everywhere greenery and the forest will be fully covered by rhododendron. There will be more crowded, but you have good visibility and that allows for effective acclimatization.

In the winter and summer season, the route is more challenging for climbing. In summer, there will be heavy rainfall, and the road is full of muddy and slippery. And in winter, there will be snow and there is freezing cold.
