Koshi Tappu wildlife reserve tour is home for endanger wild water buffalo which is one of the most popular tour in Nepal. The area is protected area of eastern Nepal. We can go with by road and by air at Koshi Tappu from Kathmandu valley.
By road: From Kathmandu, we can take a tourist bus to move towards Koshi Tappu. It takes lots of time to reach this wildlife reserve. If you have lots of time, then you can go with the tourist bus because it is less expensive. It takes almost 12 hours to reach here. Even though, it is time-consuming, but gets a chance to explore many small cities with beautiful surrounding of Nepal.
By air: It is an easy way to go to Koshi Tappu wildlife reserve tour. It is just 40 minutes of flight towards Biratnagar and from Biratnagar; we will take 1 hour of drive towards Koshi Tappu. Even though it is an easy way, but it is a little bit expensive. Though the flight is expensive, but it is worth it because it save you time if you have short vacation.
Things needed for Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve
Before embarking on this tour, it is very much important to know about weather and temperature of the route to pack the things. Packing the right things makes the trip more comfortable. Some of the important thing which is needed for this trip is:

- Light jacket and sweater for cooling evening
- Comfortable shoes and hiking boots

Jeep safari: The whole wildlife Reserve can do by Jeep Safari. It will be the best idea to do jungle safari by jeep which let you explore the forest with unique vegetation. We have to visit this wildlife reserve before 3pm because after 3 you are not allowed to enter the park. Not only jeep safari, but we can take ride on the back of elephant to explore whole wildlife reserve.
Bird watching: You will be mesmerized by the colorful birds on this whole trip. There are almost 485 species of birds like 20 species of duck, 2 species of ibises, storks, egrets, woodpecker, eagles, endangered swamp partridge, herons and many more. It will be wonderful experience to see many endangered birds over this small reserve area.
