• Day 01 Arrive in Kathmandu
    You will be greeted by the representative of Kai expedition after set foot on Tribhuvan international airport. From an airport, you will directly take to the hotel and check in and take some rest. If you want, you can roam around Thamel.

  • Day 02 Preparation and Sightseeing
    In the early morning, we will attend the morning Aarati at Pashupatinath and spend some peaceful time around the temple. After spending some time around the temple, we will set up all the climbing and trekking permits. After taking the entire trekking and climbing permit, we will explore the Kathmandu valley. First, we will visit Swayambhunath (the monkey temple), from where you will see the entire Kathmandu Valley from the top of Swayambhunath. After visiting Swayambhunath, we will explore Bouddhanath, Kathmandu Durbar Square, and after exploring around, return to the hotel and spend overnight.

  • Day 03 Scenic Himalayan flight to Lukla, afterward trek to Phakding
    First, you will take a thrilling early morning flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, one of the most adventurous airports in the world. After landing at Lukla, you will meet the trekking crew (potter and Sherpa) and begin a short trek to Phakding. From Phakding, the trail gently descends through pine forests, crossing a suspension bridge over the Dudh Koshi River, and passes small Sherpa villages. After about 3 to 4 hours of trekking, you will reach Phakding, a peaceful village nestled along the river, where you will rest for the night.

  • Day 04 Phakding to Namche Bazaar
    The treks continue from Phakding to Namche Bazaar. You will pass through beautiful pine forests and enter Sagarmatha National Park, where your permits are checked. The final stretch involves a steep uphill climb, but the reward is reaching the vibrant Sherpa town of Namche Bazaar, perched on a mountainside with stunning views.

  • Day 05 Rest day at Namche Bazaar
    On day 5 of the Pumori expedition, you will take a rest day and acclimatization at Namche Bazaar. This beautiful Sherpa town is nestled at 3440 meters; this vibrant Sherpa town offers stunning views of the Himalayas, including glimpses of Everest. Today, you can explore the local market, or you can hike to the Everest View Hotel for panoramic scenery. It is a perfect blend of rest and light activity to prepare for higher altitudes ahead.

  • Day 06 Namche Bazaar to Tengboche
    The journey continues from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche, a scenic and spiritually significant leg of the trek. From Namche Bazaar, the trail offers stunning views of Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and Thamserku as it gradually ascends through forests of rhododendron and pine. After crossing the Dudh Koshi River, a steep climb leads to the Tengboche monastery, the largest in the Khumbu region, nestled amidst breathtaking Himalayan vistas. This day not only provides physical challenge but also a deeper sense of tranquility and acclimatization before heading further into higher altitude.

  • Day 07 Tengboche to Dingboche
    From Tengboche, the trail descends through forests to Deboche, crosses the Imja Khola, and passes through the village of Pangboche, offering close-up views of Ama Dablam. Upon reaching Dingboche, a beautiful village nestled in a wide valley; trekkers are greeted with expansive views of Lhotse, Island peak, and other towering peaks-an ideal place for acclimatization and rest before higher climbs.

  • Day 08 Rest day at Dingboche
    Day 8 of the Pumori expedition is an acclimatization and rest day at Dingboche, a picturesque village nestled at 4340 meters. This vital pause allows you to adjust to the altitude and reduce the risk of AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness). Light hikes to nearby ridges, such as Nangkartshang Peak, offer stunning views of Ama Dablam, Lhotse, and Makalu, while helping the body adapt to the thin air. The day also provides time for rest, gear checks, and mental preparation for the more challenging stage ahead.

  • Day 09 Dingboche to Lobuche

    From Dingboche to Lobuche, the trail gradually climbs through alpine terrain, passing the small settlement of Dughla before reaching Thukla Pass, where climbers pause to pay respects at memorials dedicated to fallen mountaineers. The route then follows the lateral moraine of the Khumbu Glacier, offers dramatic views of peaks like Pumori and Nuptse, before arriving at the windy outpost of Lobuche, where the night is spent preparing for the higher elevation ahead.

  • Day 10-29 Summit Mount Pumori

    Summit push on Pumori with base camp life well-established, climbers begin their rotation through Camp 1 and 2 from day 10 onwards. Camp 1, set at around 5700 meters, offers the first tastes of Pumori’s steep ridgelines and ice walls. Camp 2, perched near 6200 meters, involves technical ascents through narrow couloir and crevasses terrain. Climbers shuttle gear between camps while slowly building endurance and altitude tolerance, returning to base camp in between to rest and recover.

    As the weather window opens near day 24, the summit bid begins in earnest. Climbers move quickly from base camp to Camp 2, then push to Camp 3 at 6480 meters, nestled just below the final summit ridge. The summit push is grueling, often beginning in the dark hours of the early morning to catch stable conditions. With crampons biting into the ice and fixed ropes aiding the final ascent, climbers reach the 7161 meters summit of Pumori, greeted by panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, and the Khumbu Valley. After brief celebrations at the top, the team descends carefully, returning to base camp by day 29 to begin the journey home.

  • Day 30 Clean up the base camp
    Once we completed summiting the Pumori expedition, we will collect all the garbage produced during the expedition period on this day. It must clean up to protect the environment.

  • Day 31 Pumori base camp to Pangboche
    The trek descends from Pumori Base Camp to Pangboche, marking a significant transition from the high-altitude, rugged terrain near Everest back towards more temperate valleys. Along the way to Pangboche, you will be amazed by stunning views of mountains like Ama Dablam and Lhotse. As you descend, the air gets richer, and the landscape gradually shifts from barren rock to alpine greenery. Arriving in Pangboche, one of the oldest Sherpa villages in the region brings a comforting sense of return, with its historic monastery and warm local hospitality.

  • Day 32 Pangboche to Namche Bazaar
    From Pangboche, the trail winds through rhododendron forests and passes charming Sherpa villages like Tengboche, where the famous monastery offers a peaceful rest stop. As you drop in altitude, the warmer air and lush greenery become more noticeable, and the path feels gentler compared to the high mountain days. Reaching Namche Bazaar brings a sense of comfort and accomplishment, with its vibrant atmosphere, cozy teahouse, and familiar surroundings nestled in the heart of the Khumbu region.

  • Day 33 Namche Bazaar to Lukla

    The final leg of the trek took us from Namche Bazaar back to Lukla, retracing familiar path through pine forests, suspension bridges, and Sherpa Villages. The air was filled with a bittersweet mix accomplishment and nostalgia as was passes landmarks that had become part of our journey. Arriving in Lukla felt like closing a powerful chapter-tired but fulfilled, ready to leave the mountain behind yet forever changed by them.

  • Day 34 Fly back to Kathmandu

    We boarded an early morning flight from Lukla to Kathmandu, bidding farewell to the towering peaks and quiet trails of the Himalayas. The short but thrilling flight offered one last glimpse of the snow-capped mountains before descending into the bustle of the city.

    This day is an extra day if the flights delay due to bad weather on the previous day.

  • Day 36 Departure day
    The guide will be at the hotel lobby to take you to Tribhuvan international airport. The team member of the Kai expedition is also there to see you off and hopes that you will give an opportunity to serve you again.
