Day 1 Arrive in Kathmandu
Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be warmly welcomed by a representative from Kai Expedition. After clearing immigration and collecting your luggage, you will be greeted with traditional hospitality and transferred to your hotel. Take the rest of the day to relax and recover from your journey, and soak in the vibrant atmosphere of Nepal’s capital city. A short briefing about the upcoming adventure will be provided later in the evening. -
Day 2 Sightseeing and trekking preparation
On the second day, you will explore the cultural heart of Kathmandu while making final preparation for the Badimalika trek. The morning begins with a guided sightseeing tour to some of the city’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites, such as Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), Bouddhanath Stupa, and Pashupatinath Temple, offering a glimpse into Nepal’s rich spiritual heritage. In the afternoon, you will check your trekking gear, purchase any last-minute essentials, and attend a short briefing with your guide about the trek ahead. -
Day 3 Fly to Dhangadhi from Kathmandu and drive to Dadeldhura
After breakfast at Kathmandu, you will drive towards the domestic airport to take a flight towards Dhangadhi. It takes almost 1 hour and 15 minutes to reach Dhangadhi from Kathmandu. Once you lands at Dhangadhi, you can take a local bus that takes you to Dadeldhura. Dadeldhura is about 80 kilometers away from Dhangadhi, which takes almost 4 to 5 hours. The drive is very scenic, where you can enjoy views of the Terai plains gradually merging into the mid-hills. Once you reach Dadeldhura, you are welcomed by heartwarming views of Api and Saipal Himal.

Day 4 Drive from Dadeldhura to Jadanga
The journey begins with an early morning drive from Dadeldhura towards Jadanga, passing through Sanfe in Achham district. The scenic route winds through the hills and valleys of far-western Nepal, offering glimpses of rural life, terraced fields, and lush landscapes. The drive can take several hours, depending on road conditions, and serves as a transition from the mid-hills to more remote regions. Upon reaching Jadanga, you will prepare for the next phase of the trek, as the trail head to Badimalika lies just ahead. -
Day 5 Jadanga to Budha Krodh
The journey continues from Jadanga to Budha Krodh. The trail offers a blend of serene natural beauty and a gradual ascent through lush forests, alpine meadows, and scattered traditional settlements. The trail becomes more remote and peaceful, with occasional glimpses of distant Himalayan peaks. As you gain altitude, the air gets crisper, and the spiritual ambiance deepens, especially near Budha Krodh, a place believed to hold religious significance. The day’s trek is both physically rewarding and spiritually enriching, setting the tone for the sacred destination ahead.

Day 6 Budha Krodh to Bhito
The trail from Budha Krodh to Bhito takes you deeper into the remote highlands. The path winds through rolling hills, open pastures, and rhododendron forest, offering panoramic views of the surrounding valleys and distant snow-capped peaks. As you ascend further, the landscape becomes more rugged and pristine with fewer signs of human habitation. Bhito is a high camp area that provides a peaceful resting point amidst nature, preparing trekkers for the final approach to the sacred Badimalika temple. -
Day 7 Bhito to Tribeni
On the day 07 of the Badimalika trek, the journey continues from Bhito to Tribeni, a spiritually significant site nestled in the highlands. The trail offers a mix of scenic ridgelines and alpine meadows, with panoramic views of surrounding hills and distant snow-capped peaks. As you approach Tribeni, where three rivers meet, the atmosphere becomes more serene and sacred. This location holds deep religious importance and is a common stop for pilgrims heading to Badimalika. Camping at Tribeni offers a peaceful night under the stars, surrounded by nature and spirituality. -
Day 8 Acclimatization day at Tribeni
This day is reserved for acclimatization at Tribeni, allowing your body to adjust to the higher altitude before ascending further. This place is surrounded by tranquil landscapes and spiritual energy; it is an ideal spot to rest, explore the nearby temple, and take short hikes to enjoy the stunning views. This pause not only helps to prevent altitude sickness but also offers time to soak in the serene beauty and cultural significance of the area before continuing the trek to Badimalika. -
Day 9 Tribeni to Badimalika Temple
Day 09 marks a spiritually inspiring journey as you trek from Tribeni to the sacred Badimalika Temple. The trail ascends through lush alpine meadows and rolling hills, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. As you approach the temple, prayer flags flutter in the breeze, and a sense of peace sets. The temple is located at an altitude of around 4200 meters; Badimalaika temple is a revered pilgrimage site, and reaching it feels both humbling and rewarding. The day ends with a sense of accomplishment and spiritual serenity amid the tranquil beauty of this remote sanctuary.

Day 10 Badimalika Temple to Dhawalpur Lake
The trek continues from the sacred Badimalika Temple to the serene Dhawalpur Lake. The trail winds through pristine alpine landscapes, with occasional sightings of wildflowers and panoramic mountain views enhancing the journey. As you descend and traverse ridges and meadows, the glistening water of Dhawalpur Lake gradually comes into view, nestled peacefully amidst untouched natural beauty. Upon arrival, the tranquil atmosphere and mirror-like reflection of the surrounding peaks on the lake’s surface after a perfect setting for rest and reflection.

Day 11 Dhawalpur Lake to Lamagadh
The trek from Dhawalpur Lake to Lamagadh is a scenic and moderately challenging journey through alpine meadows and dense forests. As you descend from the high-altitude beauty of Dhawalpur Lake, the trail offers panoramic views of surrounding hills and distant snow-capped peaks. Along the way, you will pass through tranquil landscapes rich in biodiversity, with occasional sightings of Himalayan wildlife. Lamagadh is nestled in a serene valley and serves as a peaceful resting point after a day of immersive trekking in the heart of western Nepal. -
Day 12 Lamagadh to Silgadhi
The final day of the Badimalika trek takes you from Lamagadh to Silgadhi, marking the end of this unforgettable journey. As you approach Silgadhi, the trail becomes easier, and the transition from remote wilderness to a bustling town begins to unfold. Day 13 Drive towards Dhangadhi from Silgadhi
The journey begins by returning from Silgadhi to Dhangadhi, descending from the hills back into the Terai plains. The drive offers scenic views as you pass through winding mountain roads, lush forests, and small rural settlements. It is a long but rewarding trip taking approximately 9 to 10 hours, so an early start is recommended. Along the way, you can pause for short breaks and enjoy local snacks while reflecting on the memorable experience of the journey through far-western Nepal.

Day 14 Fly back to Kathmandu from Dhangadhi
In the early morning, take a domestic flight from Dhangadhi to Kathmandu, which marks the end of the Baimalika trek adventure. The flight offers a final aerial glimpse of the diverse landscapes you have explored, from the lowland plains to the distant hills. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you can relax and unwind, cherishing the memories of the serene trails, cultural encounters, and stunning mountain views experienced during the trek. -
Day 15 Departure day
Your final day begins with a peaceful morning giving you time to pack up, enjoying a last Nepali breakfast and perhaps pack up a few souvenirs. Depending on your flight schedule, you have a chance for a short stroll around Thamel or a quiet moment of reflection. Our team member will transfer you to Tribhuvan International Airport with a heartfelt farewell, marking the end of your unforgettable journey through the Himalayas.
