    Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be warmly welcomed by the Kai Expedition team and transferred to your hotel. After a brief introduction and check-in, there will be time to relax and recover from your journey. In the evening, you may attend a short trip briefing where the team will review the Ganesh Himal Base Camp Trek itinerary, check essential documents, and answer any question. This day is mainly for rest, preparation, and enjoying you first impression of Kathmandu’s vibrant culture and atmosphere.

  • Day 2 Sightseeing at Kathmandu

    This day is dedicated to sightseeing and final trekking preparation in Kathmandu. After breakfast, the day begins with guided visits to UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), Pashupatinath Temple, and Bouddhanath Stupa, offering a deeper insight into Nepal’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage. In the afternoon, there is time to check and organize trekking gear, purchase, or rent any missing equipment, and attend a detailed trek briefing covering routes, safety measures, and altitude awareness. The day concludes with an overnight stay in Kathmandu, ensuring you are well-prepared and relaxed before starting the Ganesh Himal Base Camp.

  • Day 3 Drive to Machha Khola from Kathmandu

    With an early morning, we will depart from Kathmandu as we set out on a scenic drive to Machha Khola, the trail head for the Ganesh Himal Base Camp Trek. Leave the bustle of capital behind, the journey follows winding mountain roads alongside terraced hillsides, rural villages, and river valleys, offering a glimpse into traditional Nepali countryside life. As we move deeper into the remote region of Dhading, the landscapes become more rugged and dramatic, with occasional views of snow-capped peaks in the distance. The drive, though long and uneven at times, is an adventure in itself and ends at Machha Khola, a small riverside settlement where the trekking route officially begins and preparations are made for the days of walking ahead.

  • Day 4 Machha Khola to Jagat
    Today is the first day of trekking as you set off from Machha Khola and begin your walk towards Jagat. The trail follows the Budhi Gandaki River, passing through lush forests, narrow gorges, and small settlements inhabited by Gurung and Ghale communities. You will cross several suspension bridges and walk along rocky paths and stone staircases, with the sound of the river accompanying us throughout the day. After a steady day of walking, you arrive at Jagat, a charming village with traditional stone houses, where you will rest and acclimatize while enjoying the peaceful mountain atmosphere.

  • Day 5 Jagat to Lokpa
    The trek takes you from Jagat to Lokpa, marking your transition from the lower Budhi Gandaki valley into the remote Nubri region. The trail begins with a steady climb through terraced fields and traditional Gurung villages, gradually entering more rugged and less populated landscapes. As you ascend, views of deep gorges, cascading waterfalls, and forested hillsides unfold, creating a sense of wilderness and isolation. After crossing several suspension bridges and passing mani walls and prayer flags that reflect strong Tibetan Buddhist influence, you will reach the quiet villages of Lokpa, where you will spend overnight and prepare for the journey ahead.

  • Day 6 Lokpa to Chumling
    The trek continues from Lokpa to Chumling, leading deeper into the remote Nubri region of the Ganesh Himal area. The trail descends briefly through pine and rhododendron forests before following a narrow path along the river gorge, offering dramatic views of steep cliffs and untouched landscapes. Passing small settlements and ancient mani walls, the route reflects the strong Tibetan cultural influence of the region. The walk is peaceful and less traveled, allowing trekkers to fully experience the solitude and raw beauty of the Himalayas. After several hours of trekking, you will arrive at Chumling, where the calm environment and warm local hospitality provide a restful end to the day.

  • Day 7 Chumling to Chhokang Paro
    Today you will trek from the quiet village of Chumling to the traditional settlement of Chhokang Paro. The trail begins with a gradual ascend through terraced fields and dense forests of pine, rhododendron, and bamboo, offering occasional glimpses of snow-capped peaks in the distance. As you move higher, the landscapes become more rugged and remote, reflecting the true wilderness of the Ganesh Himal region. Passing through small hamlets and crossing mountains stream, you will experience the simple lifestyle and warm hospitality of the local Gurung and Tamang communities. After several hours of steady trekking, you will reach Chhokang; you will rest and prepare for the adventure ahead.

  • Day 8 Chhokang Paro to Mu Gompa
    From Chhokang Paro, you will trek towards Mu Gompa. Along the way to Mu Gompa, you are rewarded with impressive views of Ganesh Himal, Paldor peak, and surrounding high ridges. The route reflects a strong Tibetan influence, evident in mani walls, prayer flags, and chortens scattered along the path. After a steady climb through this serene and spiritually rich environment, you will arrive at Mu Gompa, where the peaceful atmosphere and panoramic scenery marks a memorable highlight of the trek.

  • Day 9 Mu Gompa to Chhokang Paro
    Today, the trek is a peaceful and scenic return journey from Mu Gompa to Chhokang Paro. After an early morning at Mu Gompa, surrounded by the serene atmosphere of the ancient monastery and high Himalayan landscapes, the trail descends gradually through alpine terrain and yak pastures. The walk offers wide views of snow-capped peaks, rugged hills, and the deep Budhi Ghandaki valley below. Passing through remote settlement and crossing small streams, the trek retraces familiar paths, allowing time to appreciate the raw beauty and cultural richness of the region. By late afternoon, the trail reaches Chhokang Paro, where you rest for the night, reflecting on the rewarding high-altitude experience and preparing for the journey ahead.

  • Day 10 Chhokang Paro to Gomba Lungdang

The route gradually ascends across alpine meadows and rocky terrain, with sweeping views of surrounding ridges and snow-capped peaks. Along the way to Gomba Lungdang, you pass seasonal herder shelters and yak pastures, experiencing the raw wilderness and isolation of the high Himalaya. The walk is steady and demanding, yet deeply rewarding due to the pristine scenery and tranquil environment. By late afternoon, you will reach Gomba Lungdang, where you rest and acclimatize while enjoying panoramic mountain views under the vast Himalayan sky.

  • Day 11 Hike up Ganesh Himal Base Camp and back to Gomba Lungdang

    With an early morning hike towards Ganesh Himal Base Camp, following a rugged trail that gradually climbs through alpine terrain with sweeping views of glaciers, rocky moraines, and the towering peaks of the Ganesh Himal range. The ascent is rewarding, offering a close-up perspective of the dramatic Himalayan landscape and a peaceful, remote atmosphere. After spending time at base camp to rest, take photos, and soak in the surroundings, the trek retraces the same route back downhill to Gomba Lungdang. The return journey is more relaxed, allowing time to reflect on the achievement of reaching Ganesh Himal base camp before setting back into the monastery lodges at Gomba Lungdang for a well-earned rest.

  • Day 12 Gomba Lungdang to Lokpa
    The trek begins with a descent from Gomba Lungdang, following a scenic trail that winds through dense forests of pine, rhododendron, and bamboo as the landscapes gradually become greener and warmer. The trek passes through quiet valleys, small streams, and traditional villages, offering glimpses of local Tamang culture and rural mountain life along the way. As the trail continues downhill, the terrain becomes gentler, leading to the peaceful villages of Lokpa by late afternoon. After arrival, you can relax, enjoy the natural surroundings, and reflect on the journey from the high alpine region back into the lower hills, concluding another fulfilling day on the Ganesh Himal Base Camp Trek.

  • Day 13 Lokpa to Jagat
    From Lokpa to Jagat, you will follow the Budhi Gandaki River through a mix of forested trails, terraced fields, and traditional Gurung Villages. As the trail approaches Jagat, the landscapes become warmer and more cultivated, marking a clear transition from the remote upper regions of the Ganesh Himal area. The day ends in the stone-paved villages of Jagat, where you can rest and reflect on the journey through the hidden valleys of the Ganesh Himal Base Camp Trek.

  • Day 14 Jagat to Machha Khola

Villages along the way offer glimpses of traditional rural life, with locals tending to their farms and children waving cheerfully. The walk is relatively moderate, making it a refreshing contrast to the steeper sections earlier in the trek. By the end of the day, you reach Machha Khola, where you will spend overnight.

  • Day 15 Drive back to Kathmandu from Machha Khola

The drive offers a chance to relax, reflect on the challenging yet rewarding trek, and enjoy glimpses of rural life, terraced fields, and small towns along the way. Arriving in Kathmandu, you are welcomed by the bustling city atmosphere, striking contrast to the serene mountains, marking the triumphant conclusion of an unforgettable adventure.

    Today, you will depart from Nepal after successfully completing the Ganesh Himal Base Camp Trek with Kai Expedition. The trek had challenged you physically and mentally, yet rewarded you with unforgettable landscapes, moments of camaraderie and the serene beauty of the Ganesh Himal.
