• Day 1 Arrive in Kathmandu
    Once you perch at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by a team member of Kai Expedition and clear immigration formalities. After completing immigration formalities, you will transfer to your hotel where you can relax and recover from the journey. In the evening, there will be brief orientation session to introduce the team, review the itinerary, and ensure you are fully prepared for the adventure ahead.

  • Day 2 Sightseeing and trekking preparation
    Today, you will the day in Kathmandu preparing for the Ganja La Pass trek ahead. This day includes finalizing trekking permits, checking gears, and meeting your guide or team for briefing. After preparations, you will have time for sightseeing around the city, exploring cultural landmarks such as Swayambhunath (Monkey temple), Bouddhanath Stupa, Pashupatinath, and the historic Kathmandu Durbar Square. It is a place blend of practical arrangements and cultural immersion before heading into the Himalayas.

  • Day 3 Drive to Syabrubesi

    From Kathmandu valley, we will depart early and slowly drive to Syabrubesi, the gateway to Ganja La Pass. The scenic journey winds through lush hills, terraced fields, and dramatic river valleys-expect around 8 to 9 hours on a mix of paved and rough mountain roads. Upon arrival at Syabrubesi, you will check into a teahouse, sort gear, and enjoy your first taste of mountain hospitality as you prepare for the tougher trek ahead.

  • Day 4 Syabrubesi - Lama Hotel

    From Syabrubesi, you will start a journey with a scenic and moderately challenging trek to Lama Hotel. The trail follows the Langtang Khola River through lush forests of oak, bamboo, and rhododendron, offering occasional glimpses of wildlife and cascading waterfalls. Passing through small settlements like Bamboo and Rimche, the path steadily ascends, providing a mix of uphill climbs and serene walking trails. The day ended at Lama Hotel, a quiet resting spot nestled in the forest, where you can relax and prepare for the higher altitudes ahead.

  • Day 5 Lama Hotel - Mundu

    Today, you will trek from Lama Hotel to Mundu. The trek ascends gradually through dense forests before reaching the village of Ghodatabela, where the valley opens up with stunning views of Langtang Lirung. Continuing past the rebuilt Langtang Villages, which was divested in the 2015 earthquake, the paths climb gently through yak pastures and scattered Tamang settlements. The day concludes at Mundu, a peaceful village surrounded by towering peaks, providing a perfect setting to acclimatize and enjoy the breathtaking Himalayan scenery.

  • Day 6 Mundu - Kyanjin Gompa

    You will continue your journey from Mundu to Kyanjin Gomp. Along the way to Kyanjin Gomap, you will pass small settlements and ancient mani walls, immersing in the rich Tibetan-influenced culture of the region. Upon reaching Kyanjin Gompa, a charming village surrounded by mountains, you can explore the historic monastery and prepare for upcoming high-altitude challenges.

  • Day 7 Acclimatization day at Kyanjin Gompa
    Today is an acclimatization day at Kyanjin Gompa, which allows you to rest and adjust to the high altitude before crossing the Ganja La Pass. This beautiful place is surrounded by majestic Himalayan peaks, and on this day you can explore the area, including hiking to Kyanjin Ri or Tsergo Ri for panoramic mountain views. You will also get a chance to visit the local monastery and cheese factory, offering a deeper insight into the local culture and lifestyle. This rest day is essential for proper acclimatization and preparing both physically and mentally for the challenging days ahead.

  • Day 8 Kyanjin Gompa - Ganja La Phedi

    The trek begins from Kyajin Gompa and heads south towards Ganja La Phedi, the base of the challenging Ganja La Pass. The trail ascends through rugged terrain, alpine meadows, and rocky slopes, offering stunning views of the Langtang Lirung ranges. As you leave the last sign of settlement behind, the path becomes steeper and more remote, with fewer trekkers in sight. Reaching Ganja La Phedi, you will set up camp at the foot of the pass, surrounded by dramatic mountain scenery, in preparation for the demanding crossing of Ganja La the following days.

  • Day 9 Ganja La Phedi - Keldang

    Today the walk involves a strenuous and adventurous trek from Ganja La Phedi to Keldan via the high Ganja La Pass. The day starts early with a steep and often snow-covered ascent to the pass, which can be challenging due to the altitude and rugged terrain. The descent from the pass is steep and rocky, requiring careful navigation as it leads into more remote and less-traveled areas. After several hours of trekking through alpine meadows and rocky trails, the route finally descends to Keldang.

  • Day 10 Keldang - Yak Kharka

    You will continue your journey from Keldan to Yak Kharka, involving a long and gradual descent. The trail winds through alpine terrain, passing through forests and open meadows with occasional glimpses of snow-capped peaks in the distance. Though not as physically demanding as previous days, the altitude still requires a steady pace and proper acclimatization. Yak Kharka, a seasonal grazing area for yaks, offers a peaceful resting spot surrounded by natural beauty and the serenity of the high Himalayan.

  • Day 11 Yak Kharka - Tarkeghyang

    The trek from Yak Kharka to Tarkeghyang involves a long descent through lush forests and picturesque villages, marking a return to more inhabited areas. As the altitude decreases, the landscapes transforms from alpine meadows to dense rhododendron and pine forests. Arriving in Tarkeghtang, one of the oldest and culturally reach villages in the region, you can enjoy the hospitality of the local Sherpa community and explore its ancient monastery and stone houses.

  • Day 12 Tarkeghyang - Sermathang

    The journey from Tarkeghyang to Sermathang is a scenic and relatively easy walk through beautiful forests, small villages, and terraced fields. The trail gradually descends and passes through charming Sherpa settlements offering panoramic views of the surrounding Himalayan ranges. Sermathang, a lovely village perched on a ridge, welcoming trekkers with is monasteries and warm hospitality, making a peaceful end to the Ganja La Pass Trek.

  • Day 13 Trek to Melamchi Bazaar and return to Kathmandu

    Today is the final day of the trek begins with a gentle descent from Sermathang to Melamchi Bazaar, passing through picturesque villages, terraced farmland, and lush forests. The walk is pleasant and offers glimpses of rural life in the Helambu region. Upon reaching Melamchi Bazaar, the journey continues with a scenic drive back to Kathmandu, marking the end of a memorable trekking of the Ganja La Pass.
