• Day 1 Arrival in Kathmandu

    Our representative will be at the airport with your placard and welcome you to Nepal and transfer you to the hotel.

  • Day 2 Sightseeing and Permit day

    We will be visiting different cultural heritages in Kathmandu which will also be a rest day to acclimatize for jet lag and prepare for the Kanchenjunga base camp trek. Permit preparation day.

  • Day 3 Flight to Bhadrapur, Drive to Illam

    Take the early-morning flight to east Nepal's Bhadrapur from where we will have a jeep drive to Ilam, the largest tea garden in Nepal.

  • Day 4 Drive to Taplejung

    After 7/8 hours of driving in a vehicle, we will pass through beautiful Phiding village and stay the night in Taplejung.

  • Day 5 Trek from Taplejung to Mitlung - 3 to 4 hours

    After early morning breakfast, we will start our trek. The route passes through a variety of villages with classic mud-brick homes and green middle hills. We then follow the course of the Tamor river to get to the Mitlung village. Basic homestays and tea houses will be available for accommodation.

  • Day 6 Trek from Mitlung to Chiruwa – 5/6 hours

    The valley narrows as the road crosses previous landslide debris and passes past the settlements of Sinwa, Tawa, and Porke. After crossing a wooden bridge over the Thiwa Khola River, the route continues downhill before making a few more climbs and drop-offs to reach Chiruwa.

  • Day 7 Trek from Chiruwa to Sekathum – 5/6 hours

    We go past the settlements of Taplethok, Tamewa, Hellok, and Lelep before descending to the Simbu Khola, which rises from the Yalung Glacier. We go through the challenging Ghunsa Khola valley till we reach Sukethum. 

  • Day 8 Trek from Sekathum to Amjilosa – 6/7 hours

    We trek across exposed hilly terrain toward Amjilosa while following the flow of the Ghunsa Khola. We arrive in the Tibetan settlement of Amjilosa after admiring the breathtaking scenery and passing across multiple bridges over Ghunsa Khola.

  • Day 9 Trek from Amjilosa to Gyabla – 5/6 hours

    We get to Gyabla after walking along a woodland route covered with bamboo and rhododendrons. On our trip to Gyabla, we also come across a major waterfall. We will be staying the night at Gyabla.

  • Day 10 Trek from Gyabala to Ghunsa – 5/6 hours

    We walk through a large field as we make our way toward Ghunsa after leaving the lovely Gyabla settlement behind. Then, after coming down a short hill and crossing a river, we arrive in the Tibetan settlement of Ghunsa passing through the village of Kyapra. 

  • Day 11 Acclimatisation Day

    We make a quick hike to the other side of Ghunsa Khola in order to acclimatize to the thinner air. We will spend the day after the climb exploring the historic hamlet of Ghunsa, visiting monasteries, and learning about Buddhist customs and culture.

  • Day 12 Trek from Ghunsa to Khambachen – 5/6 hours

    The path gradually goes along the Ghunsa Khola's south bank as it passes through lovely rhododendron and pine forests, past monasteries, mani walls which are walls made of stones inscribed with a Lamaist prayer, and colorful prayer flags.

  • Day 13 Trek from Khambachen to Lhonak – 5/6 hours

    From Khambachen, the path rises up over open, stony hills to the town of Ramtang, passes the Kanchenjunga Glacier to the northwest, and continues through massive stone houses to the settlement of Lhonak. On the way, we can have a look at some high mountains such as Mera, Ramthang and many unnamed peaks as well. Most of them are above 6000 meters. 

  • Day 14 Trek from Lhonak to Pangpema – 5/6 hours

    The last day to get to our goal is today. After a nice breakfast, it's best to get going as soon as possible. An early start is required for the climb to the Kanchenjunga north side base camp at Pangpema (5143m), which offers magnificent views of the massive Kanchenjunga as well as Tent Peak, Nepal Peak, Cross Peak, the Twins, and other peaks as well.

  • Day 15 Trek from Lhonak back to Ghunsa – 6/7 hours

    After the incredible experiences in Kanchenjunga Base Camp, we follow the same route back to Ghunsa while taking in the breathtaking views of various mountains. We trek across the moraines of Kanchenjunga Glacier and Kumbhakarna Glacier till we reach Ghunsa, passing via Lhonak and Khangpachen.

  • Day 16 Trek from Ghunsa to Selele – 5/6 hours

    Today we hike through a rhododendron forest, rising steeply to the Tamo La which is a minor pass, and is a stunning panorama of the Gunsa valley. Next, we hike to the camp gently through the Selele Pass.

  • Day 17 Trek from Selele to Tseram – 5/6 hours

    Today we go across two passes, the highest of which is the Sele La (4480m) and Sinion La (4660m). We are welcomed with a fantastic view of Yalung Glacier, Jannu (7710m), Makalu (8481m), Baruntse (7129m), Kanchenjunga (8586m), and many more mountain ranges after we reach the top of the passes.

  • Day 18 Trek from Tseram to Ramche – 4/5 hours

    We go towards Ramche by passing the moraines of Yalung Glacier and entering an ablation valley. We also come across a lake and a meadow, both of which have grassy slopes where we can see blue sheep grazing. Spectacular landscapes and views of all the peaks to the east along the India-Nepal border, including Koktang (6147m), Rathong (6679m), and many more above 7000m, are provided by the path when it passes the glacier's nose into the valley.

  • Day 19 Trip to Southern Base Camp and return – 7/8 hours

    We walk around Yalung Base Camp passing a cross Oktang by hiking across glacial moraines and a tough rocky road. From here, we can see Jannu (7720m) and Kanchenjunga (8586m), as well as a number of other peaks, from a great distance away. We go in the direction of Tseram while returning our paths.

  • Day 20 Trek to Tortung – 6/7 hours

    We travel through the heavily wooded trail lined with shrubs and rhododendrons as we head toward Tortong. On our approach to Tortong, we also come across a few streams, chortens, monasteries, ponds, and waterfalls.

  • Day 21 Trek from Tortung to Yamphuding – 5/6 hours

    After crossing the Simbuwa Khola, we ascend for an hour through an ancient forest before beginning a difficult elevation that lasts for an hour and a half on damaged trails. We then descend into Yamphudim after passing Lasiya Bhanjyang (3310m) and Dhupi Bhanjyang (2620m).

  • Day 22 Trek from Yamphuding to Mamankhe – 5/6 hours

    After lunch on the banks of the Khaveli river, it takes a couple of hours of trekking on flat terrain before ascending a slope to reach Mamamkhe (1,920m), which has a Rai-Limbu Museum and Cultural Center. We can see Kothang and peaks that are around 5000 meters high from here.

  • Day 23 Trek from Mamankhe to Keshwa – 6-7 hours

    We set out on a cultural tour across the Limbu people, cross a narrow pass, and arrive at Phumpe. We pass through Chhetri settlement, Phunphun hill. We continue to the Nagdewa River, passing in front of two waterfalls. We finally reach Kesewa.

  • Day 24 Trek from Keshwa to Lalikharka – 5/6 hours

    The ethnic groups of Sherpa, Gurung, and Chettri live in the settlement of Khande Bhanjyang. A one-hour stair climb follows which takes us to Upper Simbu where we trek for another 15 minutes to reach Thembewa. We reach Lali Kharka following lunch through a short climb. We will then drive to Taplejung

  • Day 25 Drive from Taplejung to Bhadrapur

    We will take a long drive to Bhadrapur. 

  • Day 26 Kathmandu

    Flight from Bhadrapur to Kathmandu, rest day.
