• Day 1 Arrive in Kathmandu

    Once you perch at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by a team member of Kai Expedition and clear immigration formalities. After completing immigration formalities, you will be transferred to your hotel where you can relax and recover from the journey. In the evening, there will be a brief orientation session to introduce to team, review the itinerary, and ensure you are fully prepared for the adventure ahead.

  • Day 2 Sightseeing and preparation for trekking

    Today is dedicated to final preparation and sightseeing around Kathmandu. You can check gear, finalize permits, and meets with guide and discuss about route and logistic. Once preparations are complete, there is time to explore Kathmandu’s rich cultural heritage, including visit to UNESCO World Heritage Sites like Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), Bouddhanath Stupa, Pashupatinath, and the historic Kathmandu Durbar Square. This day also provide time to make final preparations for the trek, ensuring you are well-equipped and acclimatized for the adventure ahead.

  • Day 3 Kathmandu-Lukla (30-minute flight)-Phakding

    You will take an early morning scenic flight to Lukla from Kathmandu, a thrilling 30-minute journey offering stunning aerial views of the Himalayan. Upon landing at the Lukla, we will start the trek begins with a gradual descent through pine forests and traditional Sherpa villages. You will follow the Dudh Koshi River, cross several suspension bridges, and pass through charming settlement and finally at Phakding, where you will spend the night.

  • Day 4 Phakding - Namche Bazaar

    From Phakding, you will trek towards Namche Bazaar. As the path gradually ascends, you will pass through dense pine forest and small Sherpa village like Monjo and Jorsale before entering Sagarmatha National Park. The final stretch involves a steep climb that rewards with the first glimpse of Mount Everest.

  • Day 5 Acclimatization day at Namche Bazaar
    Today is the acclimatization day at Namche Bazaar, which is needed to adjust to the altitude before crossing Kongma La Pass. On this day, you will take a short hike to the Everest View Hotel or Khumjung Village for panoramic views of Everest, Ama Dablam, and surrounding peaks. It is also a great opportunity to explore Namche’s markets, museum, and local bakeries while soaking in the unique culture and scenery of the Khumbu region.

  • Day 6 Namche Bazaar - Tengboche

    On the 5th day of the Kongma La Pass trek takes you from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche, ascending to an altitude of 3860 meters. The trail offers a stunning view of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam as it winds through rhododendron forests and crosses the Dudh Koshi River, after a gradual climb, you reach Tengboche, where you have an opportunity to explore Tengboche Monastery. Here, you can witness Buddhist rituals and enjoy breathtaking mountain panoramas in a peaceful sitting.

  • Day 7 Tengboche - Dingboche
    The journey continues from Tengboche to Dingboche, offering a blend of spiritual and scenic experience. As you ascend further, the landscapes transforms into alpine terrain with sparse vegetation and stunning views of Ama Dablam, Lhotse, and other Himalayan giants. After several hours of steady hiking, the day ends in Dingboche, a high-altitudes villages nestled in a broad valley, where you will rest and acclimatize for the challenging days ahead.

  • Day 8 Dingboche - Chhukkung

    The route from Dingboche to Chhukkung is a short but important acclimatization hike. The trail gradually ascends through alpine meadows and glacial moraine, offering spectacular views of surrounding peaks like Island peak, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. The walk is relatively easy and takes around 2 to 3 hours, allowing you to adjust to the increasing altitude. Upon reaching Chhukkung, you can rest and prepare for the challenging Kongma La Pass crossing ahead.

  • Day 9 Chhukkung - Lobuche

    Today, we will cross Kongma La Pass. The journey from Chhukkung to Lobuche via the Kongma La Pass is both challenging and rewarding. The day begins early with a steep ascent towards Kongma La, the highest of the three Everest region passes. After reaching the summit, a tough descent over rocky terrain leads to the Khumbu glacier, which must be crossed carefully before finally reaching Lobuche. This is a strenuous but scenic day, ideal for those seeking adventure and breathtaking alpine views.

  • Day 10 Lobuche - Gorakshep
    The trek continues from Lobuche to Gorakshep followed by a visit to Everest Base Camp. The trail follows the moraine of the Khumbu Glacier, offering dramatic views of towering peal and rugged glacial landscapes. After reaching Gorakshep, you take a break before heading to EBC, where you can stand at the foot of the world’s highest mountain. Though it is not a steep climb, the altitude and rocky terrain make it a challenging day.

  • Day 11 Gorakshep - Pheriche

    Early in the morning, you will hike to Kala Patthar, which offer breathtaking panoramic views of surrounding peaks bathed in a golden sunrise light. After soaking in the unforgettable scenery, the trek descents back to Gorakshep for breakfast. From Gorakshep, the journey continues downhill towards Pheriche, passing through glacial landscapes and alpine terrain, gradually transitioning to lower altitudes and more oxygen-rich air. The day ends in the quiet villages of Pheriche, a popular stop for acclimatization and rest.

  • Day 12 Pheriche - Namche Bazaar

    The trek continues from Pheriche to Namche Bazaar, descending through beautiful alpine meadows and rhododendron forests. The trail passes through familiar villages like Pangboche and Tengboche, where you can once again admire the famous monastery and views of Ama Dablam. As you descend further, the air becomes warmer and thicker, making breathing easier. After a long day of trekking, you arrive back in the bustling Sherpa town of Namche Bazaar, where comfortable lodges and vibrant local culture offer a welcome rest.

  • Day 13 Namche Bazaar - Lukla

    The trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla marks the final leg of the journey, retracing the familiar path through pine forests, suspension bridges, and traditional Sherpa villages. Although it is a long day of walking, the descent is generally easier on the body. You will pass through Monjo and Phakding before reaching Lukla, where the adventure began. Arriving in Lukla brings a sense of accomplishment and reflection, as the towering peaks give way to the comforts of the village and anticipation of the flight back to Kathmandu.

  • Day 14 Fly back to Kathmandu
    Early in the morning, we will board a scenic flight from Lukla to Kathmandu, marking the end of the Kongma La Pass trek. The short flight offers one last glimpse of the majestic Himalayas before landing in the bustling capital. Upon arrival at Kathmandu, you have time to relax, reflect on the journey, and enjoy the comforts of city life after days in the mountains.

  • Day 15 Departure day
    After a final breakfast in the Kathmandu Valley, the team member of Kai Expedition will take you to Tribhuvan International Airport for your onward flights, carrying with you lasting memories of Nepal.
