• Day 1 Arrive in Kathmandu

    Once you perch at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by a team member of Kai Expedition and clear immigration formalities. After completing immigration formalities, you will be transferred to your hotel where you can relax and recover from the journey. In the evening, there will be a brief orientation session to introduce the team, review the itinerary, and ensure you are fully prepared for adventure ahead.

  • Day 2 Sightseeing at Kathmandu

    Today, first, we will complete all the paper work of special permits and then start the day sightseeing in Kathmandu, immersing you in the city’s rich culture and historical heritage before starting Larkya La Pass trek. You can explore UNESCO World Heritage Sites like Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), Pashupatinath Temple and the ancient Durbar Square. Strolling through the vibrant street of Thamel offers a glimpse of local life, colorful markets, and delicious Nepali cuisine. This day also provide time to make final preparations for the trek, ensuring you are well-equipped and acclimatized for the adventure ahead.

  • Day 3 Drive to Soti Khola from Kathmandu

    You will embark on a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Soti Khola, the starting point of the Larkya La Pass trek. The journey takes approximately 8 to 9 hours, winding through picturesque hills, terraced fields, and traditional villages along the Trishuli and Budhi Gandaki Rivers. As you leave the bustling city behind, the landscapes gradually transform into rural countryside, offering glimpse of Nepal’s natural beauty and cultural diversity. Upon reaching Soti Khola, you will settle in for the night, ready to begin your trek the following day.

  • Day 4 Soti Khola - Machha Khola

    The trek from Soti Khola to Machha Khola offers a scenic and slightly challenging journey through lush forests, terraced fields, and rocky trails. The path winds along the Budhi Gandaki River, crossing several suspension bridges and passing through traditional Gurung and Magar villages. You will encounter waterfalls, narrow ridges, and steep climbs, with views of hills and occasional glimpses of distant snow-capped peaks.

  • Day 5 Machha Khola - Jagat

    Today, you will trek from Machha Khola to Jagat, continues along the Budhi Gandaki River, with the trail gradually ascending through narrow gorges, lush forests, and small settlements like Khorlabesi and Tatopani. From Machha Khola, the path includes several uphill and downhill sections, suspension bridge crossings, and landslide-prone areas, offering both adventure and natural beauty.

  • Day 6 Jagat - Deng

    The journey from Jagat to Deng takes trekkers through lush subtropical forests, cascading waterfalls, and terraced fields. The trail ascends gradually, passing through small villages like Salleri and Sirdibas, offering glimpses of local Gurung culture. After crossing a suspension bridge over the Budhi Gandaki River, the path climbs to Philim, a larger village with breathtaking views. Continuing through narrow gorges and bamboo forests, the trail eventually reaches Deng.

  • Day 7 Deng - Namrung

    The trail from Deng to Namrung offers a mix of scenic beauty and cultural encounters. The route follows the Budhi Gandaki River through dense forests and rugged terrain, with several steep ascents and descents. Passing through charming villages like Rana, Bihi, and Ghap, trekkers gradually notice a shift in architecture and culture influenced by Tibetan traditions. The trail becomes more serene and forested as it climbs higher, and after several hours of walking, we will reach Namrung where you are welcomed by mesmerizing views of Himalchuli and Manaslu.

  • Day 8 Namrung - Samagaun

    The journey from Namrung to Samagaun offers a gradual, but rewarding ascent through beautiful villages like Lho, with stunning views of Manaslu and its surrounding peak. Monasteries, mani walls, and prayers flags mark the path, reflecting the deep Tibetan Buddhist culture of the religion. As you approach Samagaun, the landscapes open up to reveal yak pastures and glacial streams, making it a perfect place to rest and acclimatize before heading higher.

  • Day 9 Acclimatization day at Samagaun

    Today is an acclimatization day at Samagaun, which is an essential pause to adjust to the altitude before crossing Larkya La Pass. You can explore the scenic surroundings, including a hike to Birendra Lake or a visit to the serene Pungyen Gompa, both offering breathtaking views of Manaslu. This rest day helps the body adapt while still staying active, ensuring better preparation for the higher elevations ahead. The day also allows time to experience local culture and enjoy the tranquil beauty of the high Himalayas.

  • Day 10 Samagaun - Samdo

    The trek will continues from Samagaun to Samdo, a scenic and relatively short trek taking about 4 to 5 hours. From Samagaun, the trail gradually ascends through alpine forests and open landscapes, offering stunning views of the surrounding peak, including Manaslu, along the way; you will pass by yak pastures and cross wooden bridge over the Budhi Gandaki River and finally at Samdo, where you will stay for the night.

  • Day 11 Samdo - Larkya Phedi

    The route leads from Samdo to Larkya Phedi “also known as Dharamsala”, a steady ascent that takes around 3 to 4 hours. The trek climbs gradually through barren, rocky terrain with sweeping view of snow-covered peaks and glacial valleys. You often spot blue sheep along the way to Larkya Phedi.

  • Day 12 Larkya Phedi - Bimthang

    Today, we will start the trekking very early in the morning. The day begins early, with a steep and gradual ascent over rocky terrain and snowy slopes. As you reach the top of Larkya La Pass, you are rewarded with panoramic views of Himlung Himal, Cheo Himal, Kang Guru, and Annapurna II. After walking few hours, you will reach Bimthang, where you take a rest after walking for a day.

  • Day 13 Bimthang - Dharapani

    The trek from Bimthang to Dharapani marks the descent into lower altitudes after successfully crossing the Larkya La Pass. With the hard part behind, the walk is more relaxed, offering time to enjoy the changing landscapes and warmer air. Passing through charming settlements like Tilije, the route eventually connects with the Annapurna Circuit trail, leading to Dharapani and spends overnight here.

  • Day 14 Dharapani - Jagat
    From Dharapani to Jagat, you will walk along a descending trail through lush forests, charming villages, and cascading waterfalls. The route follows the Marsyangdi River, with frequent glimpses of terraced fields and distant mountain views. As you lose altitude, the air becomes warmer and the landscapes greener. Passing through Tal and Chamje, you will experience a noticeable shift in climate and scenery. The day ends in Jagat, where you will take a rest for the night.

  • Day 15 Drive back to Kathmandu

    The journey back to Kathmandu retraces the route along winding mountain roads. The ride typically involves a mix of local jeep and bus travel, passing through lush hillsides, river valleys, and rural villages. As you descend further into the lowlands, the landscape transitions from rugged terrain to more populated and developed area, you arrive in Kathmandu, where the bustling city life contrasts sharply with the tranquility of the mountains, bringing the trek to a close.

  • Day 16 Departure day

    After a final breakfast in the Kathmandu Valley, the team member of Kai Expedition will take you to Tribhuvan International Airport for your onward flights, carrying with you lasting memories of Nepal.
