Day 1 Arrive in Kathmandu
As you set foot on Tribhuvan international airport, you will meet the representative of Kai Expedition. After meeting representative, we will take you to the hotel and after check in formalities in the hotel you can take some rest or roam around the vibrant street of Kathmandu. -
Day 2 Preparation Day
On this day, we will take all the necessary trekking permits which are needed for Mera Peak climbing. We also do some shopping like climbing gears which are needed for climbing. In the evening time, you will meet the representative of Kai expedition and the Guide who will be with at this Mera peak climbing will explain about tomorrow plans and leaves you to hotel to take rest. -
Day 3 Short flight to Lukla and trek to Chhutanga
Early in the morning, we will take a flight towards Lukla from Kathmandu. It will be 30 minutes of flight with beautiful Himalayan Mountain range and the lushest hill. After reach in Lukla, we will have our breakfast and slowly start our trekking towards Chhutanga. The trail leads through many small Sherpa village where you will observe the Buddhist Mani wall and prayers wheels. On the way to Chhutanga, we will pass through a pine and rhododendron trees. After 3 to 4 hours of walk, we will reach Chhutanga and spend overnight here. -
Day 4 Trek to Thuli Kharka
Today, the trail passes through rhododendron trees and yak-grazing meadows. The trail ascends the Kalo Himal ridge of stones and prayers flags. Firstly, we will reach Zatra La Pass from Chhutanga. After crossing Zatrawa La Pass, we will slowly move towards Thuli Kharka. We also get mesmerizing views of mountain including Lumding Himal, Number Himal, Kongdi RI, and Karyalong peak on this day. -
Day 5 Trek to Kothe
The trail will begin with a gradual descent. After the gradual descents, the trail will become slightly unsteady due to frequently uphill and downhill. On the way to Kothe, we will pass through the dense forest of oak, pine, and rhododendron. After 6 to 7 hours of walk from Thuli Kharka, we will reach Kothe and spend overnight here. -
Day 6 Trek to Thangnak
Today, you need to retrace the trek along the Hinku River to reach Thangnak. On the way to Thangnak, we will get an opportunity to see breathtaking views of Kusum Kanguru, Thamserku, Mera Peak and Charpati Himal. From Kothe, we will reach Gondishung where we will visit the Lungsumgba Gompa. This Lungsumgba Gompa is a little bit far from Gondishung which is a Buddhist monastery with a two-century old. After visiting Lungsumgba Gompa, we will slowly trek to Thangnak. We will reach Thangnak which is 4 to 5 hours walk and spend overnight here. -
Day 7 Trek to Khare
We will leave Thangnak after having breakfast and slowly move towards Khare. The trail will be a little bit challenging because the trail is rocky moraine pathways. Before entering Khare, we will pass through the Hinku Nup and Shar Glacier. On the way to Khare, we will pass through Kyeshaar Glacier, Mera Peak, and Charpati Himal. After 5 to 6 hours of walking from Thangnak, we will reach Khare where we spend overnight. -
Day 8 Acclimatization at Khare
Today, we will spend the entire day around Khare which is the entry point to Mera Base Camp. On this day, we will practice some climbing techniques like using a harness and climbing tool, ascending and descending the rocky terrain. -
Day 9 Trek to Mera Base Camp
Today, early in the morning after having breakfast we will walk through Mera Base Camp. Today, the trail is more difficult and technically challenging. We will ascend a glacier before entering Mera base camp. It is just 3 to 4 hours of walk from Khare and finally reaches Mera Base Camp. The team members will set the tent and in the evening time, we can roam around the base camp and spend overnight at base camp. -
Day 10 Trek to Mera High Camp
Early in the morning, after having breakfast at base camp, we will move towards Mera high camp. Today, the trail is difficult to ascend through the stony and icy trail which leads to the Mera La pass. Before entering Mera La pass, the trail continues to be as steep. From Mera La pass, we will see mesmerizing views of mountains like Everest Nuptse, Barunatse, Chamlang, and Makalu. After 5 to 6 hours of walking from Mera base camp, we will reach Mera High Camp. After reaching Mera High Camp, the team members will set up the tent and spend overnight. -
Day 11 Preparation for climbing
Before climbing Mera peak, we will stay another day at High camp. While staying at high camp, we will learn how to use climbing equipment like crampons, harness, and how to knot the ropes. We will not do heavy activities on the day because tomorrow we have to summit. -
Day 12 Climb Mera peak and trek back to High Camp
Today, incredibly early in the morning at 2 to 3 am, we will start our trekking. On this day, we will summit Mera Peak. With the proper guidance of the climbing guide, we will complete the summit. After summiting the Mera peak, we will slowly descend towards high camp and spend overnight at high camp. -
Day 13 Extra day for summiting Mera peak
If we are unable to summit Mera peak due to bad weather, then we will summit today. It is better to keep an extra day while climbing because the weather of high Himalayan is so unpredictable. If we summit Mera peak today, we will trek back to high camp and spend another day at high camp. -
Day 14 Trek back to Khare
After summiting the Mera Peak, we will trek descent to the Khare. We will take the same route to come back to Khare. It is only 3 to 4 hours of walk to Khare with natural beauty and astonishing mountain views. In the evening time, you can roam around the Khare village and spend a peaceful night at Khare. -
Day 15 Trek to Kothe
From Khare, we will slowly walk towards Kothe. On the way to Kothe, we will pass man small Sherpa settlement. The route is downhill which will become simpler and faster to hike on. We will take the same trail back from Khare to Kothe. It takes almost 5 to 6 hours to reach Kothe from Khare and spend overnight in this beautiful village. -
Day 16 Trek to Thuli Kharka
We will leave Kothe for Thuli Kharka after having a nourishing breakfast. Today, at first, we will walk uphill and then slowly walk downhill sections. The trail will pass through the western side of Hinku valley. We also pass through dense forest before entering Thuli Kharka. From Kothe to Thuli Kharka, it is about 5 to 6 hours of walk. -
Day 17 Trek to Lukla
Today is the last day walking trek of Mera Peak Climbing where we will walk from Thuli Kharka to Lukla after having a nourishing breakfast. On this day, before entering Lukla, firstly, we will cross Zatrwa La. To cross Zatrwa La pass is a little bit challenging. We will walk all the way down after crossing pass. The trail offers mesmerizing views of mountains like Cho Oyu, Kusum Khangru, Kongde Peak and other peaks. After a few hours of walking after crossing pass, we will reach Lukla and spend overnight here. -
Day 18 Flight back to Kathmandu
We will leave Everest region and slowly fly towards Kathmandu. We will take a flight according to schedule. It is just 35 minutes of flight, and we will be at Kathmandu. From domestic airport, you will directly take to hotel and spend one last night at Nepal. -
Day 19 Departure day
The guide who is with you on this Mera peak climbing will be at the hotel lobby to take you to Tribhuvan international airport according to your flight schedule. The team members of Kai expedition are also there to see you off and hoping that you will give us an opportunity to serve you again.
