• Day 1 Arrive in Kathmandu

    Once you perch at Tribhuvan International airport, you will be warmly welcomed by a team member of Kai Expedition and clear immigration formalities. After completing immigration formalities, you will be transfer to your hotel where you can relax and recover from your journey. In the evening, there will be a brief orientation session to introduce the team, review the itinerary, and ensure you are fully prepared for the adventure ahead.

  • Day 2 Sightseeing and preparation for trekking

    You will spend the day sightseeing and soaking in the city’s rich culture, visiting iconic sites like Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), Bouddhanatha Stupa, and Pashupatinath Temple. In between exploring, allocate time to visit the tourism officer or a trekking agency to obtain the necessary permit for Mesokanto La Pass Trek. This day also provides time to make final preparation for the trek, ensuring you are well-equipped and acclimatized for the adventure ahead.

  • Day 3 Drive to Chamje via Besisahar

    On the day 03, you will take a drive from Kathmandu to Chamje via Besisahar. The journey begins early in the morning with a scenic drive along the Prithvi Highway, passing through lush hills, rivers, and rural villages. Upon reaching Besisahar, the gateway to the Annapurna region, you will switch to a jeep for a rougher, off-road ride along the Marsyangdhi River valley, eventually arriving at Chamje. Chamje marks the starting point of your trekking and offers a glimpse of the rugged terrain and cultural diversity ahead.

  • Day 4 Chamje to Dharapani

    The journey continues from Chamje to Dharapani, a scenic trail that follows the Marsyangdi River upstream. The path ascends through lush forests, cascading waterfalls, and terraced hillsides, passing through small settlements like Tal, where the landscapes opens into a wide valley. After crossing several suspension bridges and navigating stone stairways, the trek reached Dharapani, a charming village that marks the junction of the Annapurna Circuit. The day’s hike takes about 5 to 6 hours and gradually introduces trekkers to the changing terrain and culture of the Manang region.

  • Day 5 Dharapani to Chame

    Today, you will trek from Dharapani to Chame, where the route gradually climbs through densepine and fir forests, offering views of snow-capped peaks. Passing through traditional villages such as Bagarchhap and Danaque, trekkers experience a blend of Tibetan-influenced culture and natural beauty. The trail includes steep sections and occasional landslide-prone areas, but the scenic landscapes and warm hospitality make the 5 to 6 hours trek to Chame a rewarding experience.

  • Day 6 Chame to Pisang

    The journey continues from Chame to Pisang, covering a scenic stretch through pine forests, traditional villages, and dramatic mountain landscapes. The trail gradually ascends along the Marsyangdi River, offering stunning views of Lamjung Himal and Annapurna II. As you reach Pisang, you will take a rest and prepare for the Mesokanto La Pass journey ahead.

  • Day 7 Pisang to Manang

    The route from Pisang to Manang offers a dramatic shift in scenery and altitude. You can choose between the lower and more direct trail and the higher route via Ghyaru and Ngawal, which offers more challenging rewards with panoramic views of Annapurna II, III, IV, and Gangapurna. As you ascend through dry alpine terrain and Tibetan-style villages, the changing landscapes reflect the rain shadow region of the Annapurna range.

  • Day 8 Acclimatization day at Manang
    Today is an acclimatization day at Manang situated at an altitude of around 3500 meters. This rest day is essential for adjusting to the thinner air and preventing altitude sickness. You can explore the scenic villages, visit the ancient Braga Monastery, or take short hikes to viewpoints like Gangapurna Lake or the Ice Lake for stunning views of the Annapurna range. The day allows the body to adapt while enjoying the rich culture and natural beauty of the region.

  • Day 9 Manang to Shree Kharka

    Day 09 of the Mesokanto La Pass trek involves a scenic hike from Manang to Shree Kharka, located at approximately 4050 meters. The trail gradually ascends along the southern side of the valley, offering breathtaking views of the Annapurna range and Gangapurna Glacier. The route passes through the small settlement of Khangsar before reaching Shree Kharka, where you will spend overnight and prepare for trekking ahead.

  • Day 10 Shree Kharka to Tilicho Base Camp

    The journey continues from Shree Kharka to Tilicho Base Camp, a challenging yet rewarding segment. As you ascend, the landscapes become more barren and dramatic, with towering cliffs and glacial streams surrounding you. After 4 to 5 hours of trekking, you arrive at Tilicho Base Camp, where you will acclimatize and prepare for the push to Tilicho Lake and the Mesokanto La Pass.

  • Day 11 Tilicho Base Camp to Tilicho Lake

    The route leads from Tilicho Base Camp to the stunning Tilicho Lake. The trek is steep and demanding, gaining significant altitude as it climbs to over 4900 meters. The trail offers breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks and alpine landscapes, making the effort worthwhile. After 3 to 4 hours of steady ascent, you reach Tilicho Lake, one of the highest lakes in the world, shimmering in a surreal setting surrounded by towering mountains. This high-altitude campsite is crucial for acclimatization before crossing the Mesokanto La Pass.

  • Day 12 Tilicho Lake to Yak Kharka

    Today, you will trek from Tilicho Lake to Yak Kharka via crossing Mesokanto La Pass. This is one of the most demanding yet rewarding days of the trek, starting early with a steep ascent over rocky and often snow-covered terrain. The views from the pass are breathtaking, offering panoramic vistas of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. After crossing the Mesokanto La pass, the trail descends sharply through rugged landscapes before gradually easing into alpine meadows as you approach Yak Kharka, where you spend overnight.

  • Day 13 Yak Kharka to Thorong Phedi

    We will trek from Yak Kharka to Thorong Phedi. The trail, less demanding than previous days, offered stunning alpine views and a sense of accomplishment from the earlier high-altitude crossing. As we descended into the rugged valley, the landscapes shifted into a more barren and dramatic terrain, with towering cliffs and loose rock. Reaching Thorong Phedi felt like a rewarding milestone, offering rest and preparation for the next big ascent.

  • Day 14 Thorong Phedi to Muktinath and drive to Jomsom

    We began the early morning ascent from Thorong Phedi to cross the iconic Thorong La Pass, one of the highest trekking pass in the world. The climb is steep and demanding, but the panoramic views from the top made every steep worthwhile. After a brief rest at Thorong La Pass, we will start our trekking towards Muktinath. The dramatic change in landscapes from snowy peaks to arid valleys-was striking. After exploring the spiritual atmosphere of Muktinath, we took a scenic drive down to Jomsom, where we rested after a long and unforgettable day.

  • Day 15 Fly back to Pokhara
    Today, we will take a scenic flight from Jomsom to Pokhara, where the flight offers breathtaking aerial views of the mountain ranges. The short flight, typically around 20 minutes, marks the end of your trek to Mesokanto La Pass. Upon arrival in Pokhara, you can relax by the lake, reflect on your journey, and enjoy the comforts of the vibrant city.

  • Day 16 Drive back to Kathmandu

    On the day 16, you will drive back to Kathmandu from Pokhara, drive through picturesque hills, terraced fields, and traditional villages. The drive offers a final glimpse of Nepal’s diverse landscapes as you transition from the tranquility of Pokhara to the bustling energy of the capital. Once in Kathmandu, you can unwind, explore the city further, or prepare for your departure.

  • Day 17 Departure day
    After a final breakfast in the Kathmandu Valley, the team member of Kai Expedition will take you to Tribhuvan International Airport for your onward flights, carrying with you lasting memories of Nepal.
