• Day 1 Arrive in Kathmandu

    Once you perch at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by a team member of Kai Expedition and clear immigration formalities. After completing immigration formalities, you will be transferred to your hotel where you can relax and recover from the journey. In the evening, there will be a brief orientation session to introduce the team, review the itinerary, and ensure you are fully prepared for the adventure ahead.

  • Day 2 Sightseeing and preparation for trekking
    Today is dedicated to final trekking preparation and sightseeing around Kathmandu. You can check gear, finalize permits, and meet with guides to discuss the route and logistics. Once preparations are complete, there is time to explore Kathmandu’s rich cultural heritage, including visits to UNESCO World Heritage Sites like Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), Bouddhanath Stupa, and Pashupatinath Temple and return to the hotel and take a rest.

  • Day 3 Kathmandu-Lukla (30 minute flight)-Phakding
    The journey to Nagpa La Pass starts an early morning scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. After landing at the Lukla airstrip (2840m), the trek kicks off with a gentle descent through charming Sherpa villages and lush landscapes. From Lukla, you will follow the Dudh Koshi River, passing mani walls and prayer wheels, before reaching Phakding (2610m), where you will take a rest and prepare for the journey ahead.

  • Day 4 Phakding to Namche Bazaar
    The journey continues with a scenic and challenging trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar, where the trail follows the Dudh Koshi River, crossing several suspension bridges, and passes through pine forests and small Sherpa villages. As the altitude gradually increases, the landscapes open up to glimpses of snow-capped peaks like Thamserku. After steady climb through switchbacks, you will finally reach Namche Bazaar, where you will take rest and prepare for an adventurous journey ahead.

  • Day 5 Acclimatization day at Namche Bazaar

    Today is the first acclimatization day of Nagpa La Pass Trek, where you will spend in Namche Bazaar to help the body adjust to the altitude. You will typically take a short hike to the Everest View Hotel for stunning panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. The day also offers time to explore Namche’s vibrant market, visit Sherpa Culture Museum, or relax in local cafes. Staying active while resting at altitude helps prepare for the higher elevation ahead.

  • Day 6 Namche Bazaar to Thame

    The trek leads from Namche Bazaar to the picturesque villages of Thame, following a quieter trail also the Bhote Koshi River. The path offers stunning views of snow-capped peaks and passes through traditional Sherpa settlements and ancient mani walls. This day helps with further acclimatization and introduces you to a more schedule part of the Khumbu region.

  • Day 7 Thame to Marulung

    The trek continues from Thame to Marulung, gaining elevation as the trail winds through a rugged and remote landscape. The route follows the Bhote Koshi valley and also offers an increasing sense of isolation and serenity. Along the way to Marulung, you will pass traditional yak herder camps and scattered stone huts, with dramatic views of snow-covered peaks. Marulung is situated at around 4150 meters and serves as a crucial acclimatization stop before approaching the challenging Negpa La Pass.

  • Day 8 Marulung to Lunag
    The trek begins from Marulung, following a remote and less-traveled route towards Lunag, a high-altitude settlement nestled near the base of the Nagpa La Pass. As you ascend gradually, the landscapes become increasingly barren and windswept, emphasizing the isolation of this high Himalayan region. After walking for several hours, you will reach Lunag which provides a sense of accomplishment and anticipation, as it serves as the staging point for the challenging crossing of the historic Nagpa La Pass.

  • Day 9 Lunag to Dzasampa

    The trek continues from Lunag towards Dzasampa, taking you closer to the formidable Nagpa La Pass. The route is demanding due to the increasing altitude and thinner air, but the solitude and raw beauty of the landscapes is deeply rewarding. As you approach Dzasampa, a remote and rugged campsite beneath the pass, you will feel a growing sense of adventure and readiness for the upcoming crossing of Nagpa La.

  • Day 10 Dzasampa to Nagpa Glacier

    The trek Dzasampa to Nagpa Glacier leads through rugged high-altitude terrain, gradually ascending into a more remote and glaciated landscape. The trail offers spectacular views of towering peaks and sweeping valleys, with the air growing thinners and the surroundings more barren. As you approach Nagpa Glacier, the icy expanse reveals itself in dramatic contrast to the rocky paths, making a memorable milestone in the journey. The day ends with a sense of awe at the glacier’s raw beauty and the remote wilderness that surrounded it.

  • Day 11 Explore Nagpa La Pass and back towards Nagpa Glacier

    The trek ventures up to Nagpa La Pass, a historic and scenic high-altitude crossing that once connected Tibet and Nepal. Standing at the pass, you are rewarded with a breathtaking panorama of icy ridges and remote valleys. After taking in the stunning vistas and the sense of isolation at the top, the trek descends back to Nagpa Glacier for an overnight stay, completing a challenging yet unforgettable day of exploration.

  • Day 12 Nagpa Glacier to Lunag

Though challenging due to its remoteness and altitude, the journey to Lunag is rewarding, providing a true sense of wilderness and solitude in the heart of the Himalayas. Upon arrival in Lunag, a quiet and isolated area, you can rest and acclimatize while soaking in the dramatic alpine scenery.

  • Day 13 Lunag to Aire

    The trek leads from the secluded Lunag valley to Aire, following a rugged and less-traveled path through high alpine terrain. The descent gradually becomes less harsh, and Aire, offers a slightly more sheltered and stable environment for rest. This day marks a transition from the glacier-dominated landscapes to more hospitable terrain.

  • Day 14 Aire to Gokyo and cross Renjo La Pass

    The trek begin from Aire with an early morning ascends towards the challenging Renjo La Pass (5360m), offering stunning panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, and Makalu. The steep climb is demanding but rewarding, as the pass provides one of the most breathtaking vistas in the Khumbu region. After soaking in the views, the trail descends gradually along glacial paths and alpine lakes, eventually leading to the tranquil villages of Gokyo, nestled beside the turquoise Gokyo Lake. This day combines high-altitude adventure with incredible scenery, making it one of the highlights of the trek.

  • Day 15 Gokyo to Dole
    The trek descends from Gokyo to Dole, following the scenic trail along the Dudh Koshi River. The path offer beautiful views of snow-capped peaks and passes by yak pastures, alpine meadows, and small Sherpa settlements. With a gradual downhill walk, the trek is less strenuous than previous days, allowing for a relaxed peace to enjoy the changing landscapes. After a few hours of trekking through rhododendron and juniper forests, you reach the peaceful villages of Dole, where you rest for the night surrounded by serene mountain beauty.

  • Day 16 Dole to Khumjung

    The trek from Dole to Khumjung offers a scenic and relatively easy descent through lush rhododendron forests and alpine meadows. As you leave Dole, you will pass through charming Sherpa villages like Luza and Machhermo, with stunning views of Thamserku and Kangtega peaks along the way. The trail gradually descends into the greener valleys, and after a few hours of trekking, you reach the large and culturally rich villages of Khumjung.

  • Day 17 Khumjung to Monjo
    You descend steadily from Khumjung towards Monjo, over roughly 4 to 6 hours, covering about 8 to 12km across lush rhododendron and conifer forests. The hike gently eases off in altitude, and as you near Monjo, you will notice a warming climate and the peaceful riverside charm of this village at the park’s entrance gate.

  • Day 18 Monjo to Lukla
    The trek from Monjo to Lukla marks the final leg of the Nagpa La Pass Trek. As you retrace your steps along the Dudh Koshi River, there is time to reflect on the adventure and take in the last views of the Himalayas. After several hours of trekking, you will arrive in Lukla, where you can relax and celebrates the successful completion of your trek.

  • Day 19 Fly back to Kathmandu
    You will take an early morning flight from Lukla back to Kathmandu, enjoying final aerial views of the majestic Himalayas. The short but scenic flight marks the end of your mountain adventure. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you return to the hustle and bustle of the city, with time to rest, explore, or shop for souvenirs as you reflect on the unforgettable journey through the Everest region.

  • Day 20 Departure day
    After a final breakfast in the Kathmandu Valley, the team member of Kai Expedition will take you to Tribhuvan International Airport for your onward flights, carrying with you lasting memories of Nepal.
