Start early from Kathmandu to Namo Buddha. The drive takes around 1.5 to 2 hours, so you will want to leave early to make the most of your time there. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by the peaceful surroundings of Namo Buddha, which is located on a hilltop offering a stunning view of the surrounding valley and mountains. We will explore the sacred stupa, the focal point of the site, where the Buddha is said to have offered his body to a hungry tigress and her cubs, demonstrating supreme compassion. While walking around the monastery, you will learn about the Tibetan Buddhist traditions practiced here and the role of Namo Buddha in Tibetan Buddhism. You might be able to sit in on a lecture or talk on Buddhist philosophy.
For lunch, you will enjoy a traditional Tibetan or Nepali lunch at a restaurant near the monastery. After lunch, we will walk around the area and visit other nearby pilgrimage sites such as caves or similar stupas. If the time permits, enjoy a peaceful walk through the surrounding forest or hills, which are ideal for experiencing nature and reflecting on the day’s spiritual activities. After visiting around, we will head back to Kathmandu and spend overnight.
