Day 1 Arrive in Kathmandu
Once you perch at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by a team member of Kai Expedition and clear immigration formalities. After completing immigration formalities, you will be transfer to your hotel where you can relax and recover from your journey. In the evening, there will be a brief orientation session to introduce the team, review the itinerary, and ensure you are fully prepared for the adventure ahead. -
Day 2 Sightseeing and preparation for trekking
You will focus on final trekking preparation and sightseeing around Kathmandu. The day begins with a gear check and final briefing to ensure you are fully equipped for the Renjo La Pass trek. Afterward, you will explore some of Kathmandu’s cultural highlights, such as the scared Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), Bouddhanath Stupa, Pashupatinath Temple, and the historic Kathmandu Durbar Square. It is a perfect blend of practical readiness and cultural immersion before heading into the Himalayas.

Day 3 Kathmandu-Lukla (30-minute flight)-Phakding
We will take an early morning flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, a thrilling 30-minute journey, which offers stunning views of the Himalayas. Upon arrival in Lukla, the trek begins with a gradual descent through charming Sherpa villages, mani walls, and lush forests along the Dudh Koshi River. After about 3 to 4 hours of walking, we will reach Phakding, where we will spend the night, acclimatizing and preparing for the journey ahead. -
Day 4 Phakding - Namche Bazaar
Today, you will trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar and after walking for few hours, you will enter Sagarmatha National Park. From Sagarmatha National Park, the trails begin a steady uphill climb through pine forests. The final stretch involves a challenging uphill climb, but the reward is the first glimpse of Mount Everest on a clear day. After about 5 to 6 hours of walking, you will arrive at Namche Bazaar, where you will rest and acclimatize. -
Day 5 Acclimatization day at Namche Bazaar
Today, we will take a rest at Namche bazaar because it is very important while trekking at high-altitude to avoid altitude sickness. You will spend the day exploring the vibrant Sherpa town, which sits at an elevation of 3440 meters, to help your body adjust to the altitudes. Short hikes to nearby viewpoints, such as the Everest View Hotel or the Sherpa Culture Museum, offer stunning panoramas of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. This rest day is essential for preventing altitude sickness while providing a chance to enjoy the local culture and scenery.

Day 6 Namche Bazaar - Phortse Thanga
The journey from Namche Bazaar to Phortse Thanga offers a quieter and more scenic alternative to the main Everest trail. The trek begins with a steady climb out of Namche, offering stunning views of Ama Dablma, Thamserku, and the Khumbu Valley. The path descends through pine and fir forests before reaching the serene village of Phortse Thanga, where you will relax and prepare for the journey ahead and spends overnight.

Day 7 Phortse Thanga - Machhermo
The trail ascends from Phortse Thanga to Machhermo, gaining altitudes steadily as it follows the Dudh Koshi River upstream. The path winds through alpine forests and past yak pastures with occasional glimpses of snow-capped peaks. After several hours of walking, the reaches Machhermo, a picturesque village nestled in a wide valley beneath towering peaks, where you can rest and acclimatize for the higher altitudes ahead.

Day 8 Machhermo - Gokyo
Passing through alpine meadows and yak pastures, you are treated to stunning vistas of Cho Oyu and surrounding peaks. The turquoise Gokyo Lakes begin to appear, adding to the scenic charm. After reaching the village of Gokyo, nestled beside the third lake, you will prepare for the challenging Renjo La Pass ahead, taking time to rest and acclimatize in this serene Himalayan sitting.

Day 9 Take a look at Gokyo Lake and back to Lodge
On day 08, you will explore the mesmerizing Gokyo lakes, a series of glacial lakes shimmering in shades of turquoise amid towering Himalayan peaks. After taking in the serene beauty and capturing the tranquil atmosphere, you will return to Gokyo Valley to rest and prepare for the upcoming Renjo La Pass crossing.

Day 10 Gokyo Valley - Lumde
The trek from Gokyo Valley to Lumde involves an exhilarating and challenging ascent over the Renjo La Pass (5360 meters). Starting early, trekkers climb steeply along a rugged trail, rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, and Makalu from the top of the pass. The descent towards Lumde is steep and rocky, passing through remote, barren landscapes. Along the way to Lumde from Gokyo, the trail is one of the most scenic and rewarding days of the trek, combining high-altitude adventure with stunning Himalayan vistas.

Day 11 Lumde - Namche Bazaar
From Lumde, the trek descends to Namche Bazaar. The path gradually drops in elevation, passing through small Sherpa villages and scenic landscapes dotted with prayer flags and mani stones. After crossing several suspension bridges and enjoying views of snow-capped peaks, the trail rejoins the main Everest route. Upon arriving in Namche Bazaar, the bustling heart of the Khumbu region, you can relax and enjoy the comforts of this lively mountain town after days in the high, rugged terrain. -
Day 12 Namche Bazaar - Lukla
The trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla is the final stretch of the journey after the challenging yet rewarding crossing of Renjo La Pass. Along the way to Lukla from Namche Bazaar, the trail descends through pine forests and traditional Sherpa villages. With the high passes behind, the walk offers a reflective and scenic return, blending fatigue with a sense of accomplishment. Arriving in Lukla, you will prepare for departure cherishing the memories of the Everest region’s rugged beauty and cultural richness.

Day 13 Fly back to Kathmandu
You will take an early morning from Lukla back to Kathmandu, concluding your trek through the Himalayas. The short but scenic flight offers one last glimpse of the towering peak before you return to the bustling capital. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, there is a time to relax, reflect on journey, and enjoy the comforts of city life after spending several days in mountains. -
Day 14 Departure day
After a final breakfast in the Kathmandu Valley, the team member of Kai Expedition will take you to Tribhuvan International Airport for your onward flights, carrying with you lasting memories of Nepal.
