Day 1 Arrive in Kathmandu
Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu Valley, you will be warmly welcomed by a representative from Kai Expedition. After clearing immigration and collecting your luggage, you will be greeted with traditional hospitality and transferred to your hotel. Take the rest of the day to relax and recover from your journey, and soak in the vibrant atmosphere of Nepal’s capital city. A short briefing about the upcoming adventure will be provided later in the evening. -
Day 2 Sightseeing and trekking preparation
Today, you will explore the cultural heart of Kathmandu while making final preparation for the Ruby Valley Trek. The morning begins with a guided sightseeing tour to some of the city’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites, such as Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), Boddhanath Stupa, Pashupatinath Temple, offering a glimpse into Nepal’s rich spiritual heritage. In the afternoon, you will check your trekking gear, purchase any last-minute essentials, and attend a short briefing with your guide about the trek ahead.

Day 3 Drive to Syabrubesi from Kathmandu
You will embark on a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi, the gateway to both Langtang and Ruby Valley Trek. The journey takes around 7 to 8 hours, winding through picturesque countryside, terraced fields, and traditional villages with stunning views of Ganesh Himal and Langtang range. The road gradually ascends and descends along the Trishuli River, offering glimpses of rural Nepalese life. Upon reaching Syabrubesi (around 1500 meters), you will settle into a local teahouse, rest and prepare for the trekking adventure that begins the next day.

Day 4 Syabrubesi to Gatlang
You will begin your trek from Syabrubesi to Gatlang, a charming Tamang village. The trail starts with a steady ascent through lush forests and terraced fields, offering beautiful views of surrounding hills and mountains. Along the way, you will pass small settlements and interact with locals, getting a glimpse of their rich culture and traditional lifestyle. After about 5 to 6 hours of trekking, you will arrive at Gatlang, known for its unique stone houses and warm hospitality. You will be spending the night in a local teahouse, or you can stay at homestay, enjoying traditional Tamang cuisine and cultural ambiance.

Day 5 Gatlang to Somdang
The journey continues from Gatlang to Somdang, a scenic route that takes about 6 to 7 hours of trekking. The trail gently ascends through beautiful forest of pine and rhododendron, passing small Tamang villages and terraced fields with stunning mountain backdrops. Along the way to Somdang, you can enjoy the views of Ganesh Himal, Langtang Lirung, and Paldor Peak. The path gradually leads to Somdang, a peaceful village once known for its old ruby mine, where you can relax and enjoy the serene valley surroundings.

Day 6 Somdang to Tipling
The trail leads from Somdang to Tipling, taking around 6 to 7 hours. The trek begins with a gradual climb to the Pangsang La Pass (3842 meters), offering panoramic views of the Ganesh Himal, Manaslu and Langtang range. After enjoying the breathtaking scenery, the route descends through alpine meadows and forest toward the charming Tamang and Gurung village of Tipling. The day’s journey blends mountain grandeur with rich local culture, providing a memorable experience of both nature and tradition.

Day 7 Tipling to Chalish Gaon
You will trek from Tipling to Chalish Gaon, a scenic and culturally rich journey that takes around 4 to 5 hours. The trail descends through terraced fields, charming villages, and lush forests, offering beautiful views of Ganesh Himal and surrounding hills. Along the way to Chalish Gaon, you will encounter friendly locals from Gurung and Tamang communities, giving you a glimpse into their traditional lifestyle. Reaching Chalish Gaon, one of the most picturesque villages in the region, you can relax, explore the surroundings, and enjoy a warm village homestay experience.

Day 8 Chalish Gaon to Borang
The journey from Chalish Gaon to Borang is a pleasant trek of about 4 to 5 hours. The trail passes through beautiful terraced farmlands, small waterfalls, and traditional Tamang and Gurung villages, offering rich cultural encounters along the way. You will enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding hills and Ganesh Himal as you make your gradual descent toward Borang village. Upon arrival, you can explore the village, interact with the friendly locals, and experience their warm hospitality in a peaceful rural setting.

Day 9 Drive back to Dhading Besi
You will leave the quiet village of Borang and begin your drive back to Dhading Besi. The journey winds through scenic hills, terraced fields, and small rural settlements, offering one last glimpse of the beautiful countryside and daily life in the mid-hills of Nepal. As you descend, the landscapes gradually change from rugged mountain terrain to lush valleys, making the end of your trekking adventure and your return to civilization in Dhading Besi. -
Day 10 Drive back to Kathmandu
You will drive back to Kathmandu from Dhading Besi, following a scenic highway that traces rivers, green hills, and bustling roadside towns. The journey takes around 3 to 4 hours, offering time to reflect on the trek’s unforgettable mountain views and cultural encounters. As you approach Kathmandu, the city’s lively atmosphere and familiar skyline signal the end of the Ruby Valley trek and a return to comfort and rest.

Day 11 Departure day
Your final day begins with a peaceful morning, you have time to pack up, enjoying a last Nepali breakfast and perhaps pack up a few souvenirs. Depending on your flight schedule, you have a chance for a stroll around Thamel or a quiet moment of reflection. Our team member will transfer you to Tribhuvan International Airport with a heartfelt farewell, marking the end of your unforgettable journey through Ruby valley.
