Day 1 Arrive in Kathmandu
You will be greeted by the representative of Kai expedition after set foot on Tribhuvan international airport. From an airport, you will directly take to the hotel and check in and take some rest. If you want, you can roam around Thamel. -
Day 2 Drive to Pokhara
The 22-day journey of Saribung Peak begins with 7 to 8 hours of drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara. Along the way, the drives pass through the scenic Trishuli and Marsyangadhi rivers. Once you have reached Pokhara, first check in the hotel and rest for a while. In the evening, you can roam around the Phewa Tal, where you can go for boating and enjoy the beautiful sunset views over the high Himalayan. After spending some peaceful time around Phewa Tal, return to the hotel and spend overnight. -
Day 3 Early morning Jomsom flight and drive to Kagbeni
From Pokhara, we will take an early morning flight towards Jomsom, which takes approximately 20 minutes. Once we have reached Jomsom, we will have a hot and nourishing breakfast. After breakfast, we will take a jeep and drive towards Kagbeni. We will take a drive along the Kali Gandaki River to get to Kagbeni. Kagbeni is also a checkpoint where authorities will check the document before entering the Upper Mustang region. -
Day 4 Drive to Lo-Manthang
From Kagbeni, we will take a drive towards Lo-Manthang which takes approximately 6 to 7 hours. Before entering Lo-Manthang, we will drive through beautiful villages, including Chele, Ghiling, and Charang. By the early evening, we will be at Lo-Manthang and check in the lodge and rest for a while. After resting some time, you can explore the villages and enjoy the sunset views and spend overnight. -
Day 5 Acclimatization to Lo-Manthang
At Lo-Manthang, we will take the first acclimatization day of the Saribung peak climbing, where you may take advantage by touring around village. While staying at Lo-Manthang, you can visit the King’s palace, the museum, the Jampa monastery, and other locations of this beautiful village. After exploring around the village, return to the lodge and spend overnight. -
Day 6 Trek to Yara
With stunning panoramic views of the mountain, we will have our breakfast. After breakfast, we will ascend gradually until you reach Dhi-La Pass. From Dhi Village, we will descend to the small river and reach beautiful Yara Village. Once we have reached Yara, you will witness several caves on the stone wall and spend overnight in this beautiful village. -
Day 7 Trek to Luri Cave Gumpa
Today is the shortest day trekking of the Saribung Peak Climbing where you have to walk around 3 to 4 hours. On this day, you get an opportunity to explore two monasteries that were built in the 15th century and also see pictures, chortens, and the conditions of antiquities. -
Day 8 Trek to Ghuma Thanti
The trek ascends gradually to reach Ghuma Thanti, where we will enjoy the beautiful landscapes. Today, the path takes through the canyon, pastureland and hilltops that include ups and downs. Along the way, you will be amazed with a mesmerizing view of Mount Dhaulagiri. Once we have reached Ghuma Thanti, the team member will set up the tent and spend overnight at the tent. -
Day 9 Trek to Namta Khola
Walk with the stunning views of the Mount Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain range. Today, we also get an opportunity to explore Damodar Kunda which is an important spiritual destination for Hindus and Buddhists alike. After spending some time at Damodar Kunda, we will slowly walk towards Namta Khola. After reaching Namta Khola, the team member will set up the camp and spend overnight. -
Day 10 Trek to Saribung Base Camp
From Namta Khola, we will ascend towards the high altitude and reach base camp. With a challenging climb to the base camp, the trail is rocky and steep. Before entering Saribung peak base camp, we will cross the Khumjungar Glacier. From Namta Khola, we will walk around 6 to 7 hours and finally reach Saribung base camp and spend overnight in the tent. -
Day 11 Acclimatization day in Saribung Base Camp
At Saribung peak base camp, we will take another rest day of Saribung peak climbing. It is better to take rest while trekking at high altitude to avoid altitude sickness. -
Day 12 Trek to Camp I
After having breakfast, we will start our trekking towards Camp I. The trail will be strenuous due to the rock and snow, and walking along the snowy trail may be quite challenging. Along the way to Camp I, you will be amazed by the mesmerizing view of Khumjunggar Himal and Damodar Himal. -
Day 13 Preparation for Peak climbing
Today, we will take a rest at Camp I. At Camp I, we will learn how to use the climbing equipment like crampons, harness, and how to knot the ropes. And the whole day, we will take rest and save our energy for tomorrow. -
Day 14 Summit the Saribung Peak and return to Camp I
Today is the day when we will summit the Saribung peak. We will start our trekking very early in the morning around 3 to 4 am. Today, we will start early because we have walked very long on this day. We will climb towards the Saribung peak following rocky terrain. After summiting the Saribung peak, we will return to Camp I and spend overnight here. -
Day 15 Extra day for Peak Climbing
Today is the extra day for climbing. If you did not summit the peak on the previous day, then you can summit this day. After summiting the peak, we will return to Saribung Base Camp and spend overnight at the tent. -
Day 16 Trek to Nagoru
After successfully summiting the Saribung peak, we will trek back to Nagoru. Today, we will trek over the rocky moraine with its views of the landscapes and peaks. The trail has many ascents and descents through mesmerizing landscapes and alpine atmosphere. After walking 5 to 6 hours from Saribung peak base camp, we will be at Nagoru and spend overnight here. -
Day 17 Trek to Phu Gaon
Along the way, the trail will pass with the views of the barren valley and walk through the Tibetan plateau to reach Phu Gaon. It is about 5 to 6 hours of walking from Nagoru and finally at Phu Gaon and spending overnight. -
Day 18 Trek to Meta
From Phu Gaon, we will descend and cross the Kyang pass through a narrow valley. Along the way, we will follow the trail, where we can even get sights of Blue sheep. Before entering Meta, we will cross many suspension bridges. Once we reach Meta, we will be welcomed with mesmerizing views of Annapurna II and Lamjung Himal and spend overnight at Meta. -
Day 19 Trek to Koto
Today, we will walk through pine forest and small streams along the way to Koto. Before entering Koto, we will pass through many suspension bridges, a small stream, and a beautiful waterfall. After walking for 6 to 7 hours from Meta, we will finally arrive at Koto, where we will spend overnight. -
Day 20 Trek to Dharapani
Start the trekking through the small villages. Today is the last day walking trek of Saribung peak, where we will walk from Koto to Dharapani. We have to walk at least 5 to 6 hours from Koto to Dharapani and spend overnight in this village. -
Day 21 Drive to Kathmandu
From Dharapani, first, we will take a short drive to Besisahar. We will take a local jeep and drive to Besisahar which takes around 2.5 hours. Once we reach Besisahar, we will have out lunch and take a bus to move towards Kathmandu. It takes around 7 to 8 hours to reach Kathmandu from Besisahar and spend overnight in Kathmandu. -
Day 22 Departure day
The guide will be at the hotel lobby to take you to Tribhuvan international airport. The team member of Kai expedition is also there to see you off and hopes that you will give an opportunity to serve you again.
