• Day 1 Arriver in Kathmandu

    Once you perch at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by the team member of Kai Expedition and clear immigration formalities. After completing immigration formalities, you will be transfer to your hotel, where you can relax and recover from the journey. In the evening, there will be a brief orientation to introduce the team, review the itinerary, and ensure you are fully prepared for the adventure ahead.

  • Day 2 Sightseeing and trekking preparation

    We will spend the day sightseeing and soaking around city’s rich culture, visiting iconic sites like Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), Bouddhanath Stupa, Pashupatinath Temple, and historic Kathmandu Durbar Square. In between exploring, allocate time to visit the tourism office or a local agency to obtain the necessary permit for Tilman Pass Trek. This day also provides time to make final preparation for the trek, ensuring you are well-equipped and acclimatized for the adventure ahead.

  • Day 3 Drive to Syabrubesi from Kathmandu

    Today begins with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi, the starting point of the Tilman Pass Trek. From Kathmandu, the journey takes approximately 7 to 8 hours, driving through mountain roads, terraced hillsides, and glimpses of rural Nepalese life. As you leave the bustling city behind, you will pass through town like Trishuli and Dunche, gradually ascending into the Langtang region.

  • Day 4 Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel

    You will trek from Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel. Crossing several suspension bridges and passing by small settlements like Bamboo and Rimche, the trail offers the chance to spot wildlife such as Langurs and red pandas. After 6 to 7 hours of steady trekking, you arrive at Lama Hotel, where you will spend the night surrounded by the tranquil sound of nature.

  • Day 5 Lama Hotel to Langtang Village

    The journey continues with a scenic ascent from Lama Hotel to Langtang Valley. The trail follows the Langtang Khola, gradually revealing stunning views of snow-capped peaks, dense rhododendron and pine forests, and occasional glimpses of Langur monkeys. As you climb higher to Langtang Village, the landscapes open up into alpine meadows, and traditional Tamang village begins to appear. After several hours of trekking, you will reach beautiful Langtang Village and spend overnight.

  • Day 6 Langtang Village to Kyanjin Gompa

    The trail leads from Langtang village to the picturesque villages of Kyanjin Gompa. The trek is relatively short but rewarding, with breathtaking views of Langtang Lirung and surrounded peaks becoming more prominent. As the altitude increases, the vegetation thins, giving way to open pastures and glacial landscapes. Along the way to Kyanjin Gomap, you will pass mani walls, chortens, and small villages, reflecting the deep-rooted Buddhist culture of the region. Upon reaching Kyanjin Gompa, you can take rest and prepare for upcoming acclimatization and further exploration.

  • Day 7 Acclimatization day at Kyanjin Gompa

    Today is an acclimatization day at Kyanjin Gompa. Surrounded by stunning snow-capped peaks, the day is spent exploring the area to adjust to the altitude. You can hike to nearby viewpoints such as Kyanjing Ri or Tserko Ri for breathtaking panoramic views of Langtang Lirung and the surrounding Himalayas. It is also a great opportunity to visit the local monastery and the famous yak cheese factory. This restful yet active day helps the body adapt to the higher elevation while soaking in the natural beauty and cultural richness of the region.

  • Day 8 Kyanjin Gompa to Langshisa Kharka

    The trek from Kyanjin Gompa to Langshisa Kharka marks the beginning of the remote and adventurous section of the Tilman Pass Trek. The trail follows the Langtang River, gradually ascending through rugged terrain with stunning views of Langtang Lirung, Dorje Lakpa, and other towering peaks. After several hours of trekking from Kyanjin Gompa, you will arrive at Langshisa Kharka, and after reaching here; the team member will set up the camp to rest and prepare for the more challenging days ahead.

  • Day 9 Langshisa Kharka to Moraine Camp

    You will start the trekking towards Moraine Camp with a mesmerizing view of surrounding peaks. This section involves a challenging ascent through rugged and remote terrain, with the trail becoming increasingly glaciated and barren. The landscapes transform dramatically, offering stunning views of surrounding peaks and mountains as you approach the base of Tilman Pass. The campsite at Moraine Camp sits at high altitude, providing an essential acclimatization stop before the crossing. Though the trek is demanding, the raw alpine beauty and sense of isolation make it a truly memorable part of the expedition.

  • Day 10 Moraine Camp to Yak Kharka
    On the day 10 of the Tilman Pass trek, the route leads from Moraine Camp to Yak Kharka via the challenging Tilman Pass. This is one of the most demanding days of the trek, involving a steep ascent over rocky and icy terrain to reach the high pass, which offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Langtang and Jugal Himal range. The descent is equally strenuous, navigating through glacial moraines and rugged slopes before reaching the alpine pastures of Yak Kharka.

  • Day 11 Yak Kharka to Tin Pokhari

    Today, you will trek from Yak Kharka to Tin Pokhari, which takes you deeper into the remote and rugged Himalayan landscapes. The trail gradually ascends through alpine meadows and rocky terrain, offering panoramic views of the surrounding peaks. Tin Pokhari means “Three Lakes”, is a serene and less-traveled destination nestled high in the mountain. Reaching the tranquil stop feels like entering a hidden sanctuary, surrounded by pristine glacial lakes and dramatic mountain vistas, which is an ideal place to rest and acclimatizes before pushing further into the high Himalayas.

  • Day 12 Tin Pokhari to Panch Pokhari
    The trek from Tin Pokhari to Panch Pokhari is a breathtaking journey through high-altitude terrain, marked by solitude and stunning natural beauty. The trails wind across rugged ridgelines and glacial valleys, with expansive views of the Himalayas accompanying you throughout the day. Once you reach Panch Pokhari, the team member will set up the camp where you can take a rest and prepare for the journey ahead.

  • Day 13 Acclimatization day at Panch Pokhari
    Today is another acclimatization day of Tilman Pass Trek at Panch Pokhari. This place is surrounded by rugged peak and tranquil beauty. This rest day allows you to adjust to the high altitude while soaking in the spiritual and natural atmosphere. Light hikes around the lakes and exploration of nearby viewpoints offer stunning panoramas and a chance to reflect, recharge, and prepare for the journey ahead.

  • Day 14 Panch Pokhari to Nasimpati

    The trek descends from the tranquil lakes of Panch Pokhari to Nasimpati. The trail winds through alpine meadows, rocky paths, and patches of rhododendron forest, offering scenic views of the surrounding mountains. As you move to the lower elevation, the air becomes slightly warmer and more comfortable. The journey is relatively short and steady, allowing time to enjoy the natural beauty and serenity of the region before reaching the small settlement of Nasimpati for an overnight stay.

  • Day 15 Nasimpati to Hile Bhanjyang

    The trek continues from Nasimpati to Hile Bhanjyang, where a journey takes you through scenic alpine landscapes and rugged mountain trails. The route involves a steady ascent followed by a descent, offering panoramic views of surrounding hills and valleys. As you leave the quiet settlement of Nasimpati, the trail will lead through rocky terrain and spares vegetation, which gradually descends into Hile Bhanjyang for an overnight stay.

  • Day 16 Hile Bhanjyang to Pauwabas

    The trek from Hile Bhanjyang to Pauwabas takes you along a forested trail with several ups and downs, offering a mix of serene natural beauty and occasional wildlife sighting. The path leads through lush rhododendron and pine forests, creating a peaceful atmosphere as you gradually descend. Through overly strenuous, the trail can be slippery and narrow in places, requiring careful footing. Upon arrival at Pauwabas, you will find basic shelter and a tranquil setting to relax after the day’s steady trek.

  • Day 17 Pauwabas to Kami Kharka

    The trek continues from Pauwbas to Kami Kharka, taking you through dense forests, serene ridgelines, and occasional open meadows. The tranquil setting and crisp mountain air make Kami Kharka a perfect spot to rest and soak in the natural beauty.

  • Day 18 Kami Kharka to Sano Okhareni

Along the way to Sano Okhareni, you may encounter local wildlife and pass by small herder shelters, adding to the natural charm of the route. As you move lower in elevation, the air becomes warmer and the vegetation more diverse. The day ends at Sano Okhareni, a quiet settlement nestled in the hills, where you can relax and spend overnight.

  • Day 19 Sano Okhareni to Chautara

The trail gradually transitions into more accessible paths as you approach Chautara, there is a sense of accomplishment and reflection on the incredible landscapes, remote high passes, and cultural richness experienced throughout the trek.

  • Day 20 Drive back to Kathmandu

    After completing the Tilman Pass trek, the journey back to Katmandu begins with a scenic drive from Chautara. As you return to the capital, there is time to relax, reflect on the adventure, and celebrate the successful completion of one of Nepal’s most remote and challenging treks.

    After a final breakfast in Kathmandu Valley, the team member of Kai Expedition will take you to Tribhuvan International Airport of your onwards flights, carrying with you lasting memories of Nepal.
