• Day 1 Arrive in Kathmandu
    Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu Valley, you will be warmly welcomed by a representative from Kai Expedition. After clearing immigration and collecting luggage, you will be greeted with traditional hospitality and transferred to your hotel. Take the rest of the day to relax and recover from your journey, and soak in vibrant atmosphere of Nepal’s capital city. A short briefing about the upcoming adventure will be provided later in the evening.

  • Day 2 Sightseeing in Kathmandu
    The day begins with a guided sightseeing tour of Kathmandu Valley, offering a rich introduction of Nepal’s history, culture, and spirituality. The day includes visits to UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as Swayambhunath (the monkey temple), where panoramic views of the valley can be enjoyed, and Pashupatinath Temple, the most sacred Hindu shrine in Nepal located along Bagmati River. The tour also covers Bouddhanath Stupa, one of the largest Buddhist stupas in the world, known for its peaceful atmosphere and Tibetan influence, and Kathmandu Durbar Square, showcasing ancient palaces, courtyards, and temples that reflect traditional Newari architecture. This cultural exploration provides meaningful insight into Nepalese heritage and serves as an ideal preparation before heading towards the remote eastern Himalayan for the Timbung Pokhari Trek.

  • Day 3 Fly to Bhadrapur and drive to Birtamode
    After breakfast in Kathmandu, we take a scenic domestic flight to Bhadrapur in eastern Nepal, enjoying aerial views of hills and plains along the way. Upon arrival at Bhadrapur Airport, you will drive to Birtamode. The journey passes through lively town, tea gardens, and lush lowland scenery, offering a glimpse into the cultural and daily life of the Jhapa region. By afternoon, we reach Birtamode, where we check into the hotel, relax after the day’s travel and prepare for the upcoming stages of the Timbung Pokhari Trek.

  • Day 4 Drive to Tharpu from Birtamode
    From Birtamode, you will begin your drive towards Tharpu, gradually leaving the lowland Nepal. The road winds through scenic countryside, small settlements, terraced fields, and lush forests, offering beautiful views of rivers and rolling hills along the way. As you gain altitude, the climate becomes cooler and the surrounding more tranquil. By late afternoon, you arrive at Tharpu, a peaceful village that serves as the starting point of the trek. Here, you will settle into teahouses or lodges, enjoy a warm meal, and rest in preparation for the trekking days ahead on the Timbung Pokhari trail.

  • Day 5 Drive to Beteni from Tharpu and trek to Kaali Khola
    The day begins with a scenic drive from Tharpu to Beteni, winding through terraced hillside, river, valleys, and small settlement that offer a glimpse into everyday life in eastern Nepal. From Beteni, the trek starts on a gradual trail that follows forested ridges and cultivated fields before descending towards the river basin. As the path narrows, you enter a quieter landscape of dense greenery and flowing streams, with the sound of waters growing stronger as Kaali Khola approaches

  • Day 6 Kaali Khola to Bikhechaur
    From Kaali Khola, beginning with a gradual ascend through the lush forest of rhododendron, bamboo, and mixed hardwoods. The trail climbs along ridgelines and small clearings, offering occasional views of surrounding hills and deep valleys below. As the day progresses, the forest begins to thin, giving way to open pastures and cultivated terraces near seasonal settlements. The walk is moderately challenging, but the changing landscapes and cool mountain air are rewarding. The day ends at Bikhechaur, a quiet grazing area surrounded by rolling hills, where you can rest and enjoy the peaceful highland environment before continuing deeper into the Timbung Pokhari Trek.

  • Day 7 Bikhechaur to Timbung Pokhari
    This day is marked a challenging yet unforgettable trek from Bikhechaur to Timbung Pokhari, as the trail steadily climbed through dense forests of rhododendron and pine, wrapped in mist and silence. The ascent tested endurance, with steep sections and rugged paths, but the changing landscapes kept the journey rewarding. As altitude increased, the air grew thinner and cooler, and distant mountain views slowly emerged through the clouds. Reaching Timbung Pokhari by evening felt truly special, with the serene high-altitude lake reflecting the sky and surrounding peaks, offering a peaceful and almost magical end to a demanding day of trekking.

  • Day 8 Explore around Timbung Pokhari and back to Bikhechaur
    The morning begins with quiet moments by the lake, watching shifting reflections on the still water and taking in panoramic views of the surrounding ridges and distant mountain. Short walks around the area revealed alpine vegetation and a sense of untouched wilderness. After soaking in the peaceful atmosphere, the trek back followed the same rugged trail downhill, passing once again through forests and open hillsides. Through easier on the lungs, the descent requires steady footing, and by the time Bikhechaur was reached, the day felt like a perfect balance of reflection, exploration, and closure to the high-altitude journey.

  • Day 9 Bikhechaur to Kaali Khola
    The trek begins with an early departure from Bikhechaur to Kaali Khola, as the trail gently descends through dense rhododendron and oak forests alive with birdsong. The path follows a mix of narrow ridgelines and shaded woodland routes, offering occasional glimpses of rolling hills and distant mountain ranges. After crossing a small stream and terraced farmlands belonging to remote villages. The trek gradually leads down towards the river valley. This is shorter but scenic trekking day prepare for the next stage of trekking while enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of eastern Nepal’s wilderness.

  • Day 10 Kaali Khola to Beteni
    The trek begins with a steady ascent from Kaali Khola, following a forested trail that winds through lush bamboo groves, cardamom plantation, and scattered rural settlements. As the path climbs, views of green hills and terraced fields unfold, reflecting the agriculture life of eastern Nepal. The trail alternates between gentle uphill sections and level stretches, crossing small streams and wooden bridges along the way. Gradually, the landscape opens up as you approach Beteni, a quiet village surrounded by farmland and forest. The day’s walk is peaceful and culturally enriching, offering close interaction with local communities and a rewarding end in the tranquil setting of Beteni.

  • Day 11 Drive back to Birtamode from Beteni

    We will drive back to Birtamode from Beteni, making the final stretch of our journey. Leaving the quiet hills behind, the drive gradually descended into the Terai plains, offering changing landscapes from forested slopes to open farmlands and bustling roadside villages. The long but comfortable journey gave us time to reflect on the trek’s memorable moment, from high alpine scenery to cultural encounter. Upon reaching Birtamode, the trail officially concluded, bringing the unforgettable Timbung Pokhari Trek to a close.

  • Day 12 Drive to Bhadrapur and fly back to Kathmandu
    The day marks the conclusion of the journey as we drive from Birtamode to Bhadrapur, passing through the first landscapes of eastern Nepal with views of tea gardens, villages, and farmlands along the way. Upon arrival at Bhadrapur Airport, we board a short domestic flight back to Kathmandu, enjoying aerial views of the hills and plains below. After landing in the capital, you will be transferred to your hotel, where you can relax or explore the city at your own pace.

    Your final day begins with a peaceful morning; you have time to pack up, enjoying a last Nepali breakfast and perhaps pack up a few souvenirs. Depending on your flight schedule, you have a chance for a short stroll around Thamel or a quiet moment of reflection. Our team members will transfer you to Tribhuvan International Airport with a heartfelt farewell, marking the end of your unforgettable journey through the Himalayas.
